Sooo many paranoid people in this world. As has already been stated multiple times in this thread, you drive around all day with your plates in plain view. Any Joe Schmo can take a picture of your car while you are driving or parked in a parking lot somewhere. I do it all the time when I see a nice car. My FB and IG have hundreds of pictures of cars I see on a daily basis or at shows.

Hiding your plate on the forums gives you little protection from anyone who is already intent on doing harm to your vehicle.

I don't get the whole 1964 DNA thing going around. Seen a few now. These 15s are about the farthest thing from classic Mustangs as possible. I would get it more on like a 2005 Mustang when it was new.

When I get behind the wheel of mine I am very often given a flashback of driving my 1967. It must be the heat extractors looking like the in-hood turn signal indicators and the general "boaty" feeling of my car before I lowered it, because it doesn't remind me or make me think of my 1965 as much as the 1967.

It is of course 1964 DNA. The core soul of the car was born in 1964.

It is something like, after 5 generations , even though a kid might look like his ancestors, yet it belongs to the lineage, CORE DNA IS SAME

On an aside,

This sentiment always reminds me of how nice it must be to be a firefighter. They get a special plate with the silhouette of a heroic firefighter with the backdrop of fire.

They get to be proud of their profession. Cops have to hide theirs.

Seems jacked up.

:headbonk:
Never knew that, i go to a lot of Car Shows where you have 400g cars and they are showing their plates

I posted 1 photo online where I hid my plate.. I wasn't so much concerned with privacy (although it couldn't hurt so why not black it out?) as I was with being identified and tracked for my shenanigans in "Mexico" just in case some one out there local saw/heard/witnessed something, particularly some one dressed in a blue or black uniform. :D

I'm not covering up what someone can take a picture of themselves, which people do quite often lol, sitting in a parking lot. The garage and house is locked for THEIR protection, not mine. For their sake, I hope they are not that stupid lol.

If others feel they need to do it, then fine, I don't care what they do lol.

Still, a year later or not, it's still seems like a relevant topic. I hide plates when I use Craigslist.

Nice looking machine CompO5.

maybe people hide their plates because other people hide their plates and those hiding their plates feel they should hide their plates too to avoid others from seeing or knowing what their plate reads, even though it makes no freaking difference because the plate is seen locally by everyone, everywhere, everyday....

And those who are good at internet sleuthing, via normal methods and Boolean - and who really want to get to or near that car they see online, can figure out where the car is located by many different methods... people do the damndest things when they post things publicly and like to SHARE... just makes it THAT much easier to get into their personal space.

:)

I always thought it was more so about people on forums not being able to know who you really are. obviously people who see me (and my tag) around town know who I am already but no reason to tell everyone on the interwebz since i enjoy trolling
