I haven't done any leg work on it yet, hell its still snowing here:doh:.
Well that's not too encouraging. If I recall there was another member who got his coated blue. I will have to hunt down his posts.
He had them painted while on the vehicle still. He hadn't driven the car much and couldn't speak to durability last I heard from him. Which left me doubting the longevity after a track day or spirited run through back roads

Got the car up on the rack for the caliper install. If you ever have the chance to get up under your car, or someone elses GT350, spend some time looking over the underbody. Ford did some good engineering with this car. I could stand under it for an hour and admire the thought the went into it.

Also got my coil covers back from my good buddies paint shop. had them done in DIB to match the stripes. My problem now is figuring out how to apply color to the recessed "powered by ford" and borders. Anyone have a creative solution?

these pics were with my ipotato so forgive the quality

I went with big worm graphix. I only used about half of what hey sent. Order the pinstripe kit they have. It's like $15

Maybe I'm missing it, but I couldn't find this on their website. Can you link to the kit?

Not sure if caught this thread or if its the route you want to go, but JLT was offering painted sets of coil covers with painted lettering options.

I'm in no way associated with them btw.

Thanks for the heads up man. Feel free to post stuff in this thread.

I did see the JLT option, but decided to keep my money local for this project. The paint shop is a couple bays down from our shop space, and at $40 you can't beat the cost. JLT does make a bad ass product though from what I've seen, and I will probably spend money there in the future once they get the GT350 intake CARB certified.

I read some people were thinning paint just a little bit and dropping it in the recesses, then using a small brush or something. I'll see if I can find the thread. I know I would surely mess up my brand new paint on the covers if I tried it

There's a thread that we need. CARB approved aftermarket parts for the GT350/R.

I had the same thought. Using a syringe to push in paint and let it dry. I got scared though and opted to order some inserts from emblem pros. Like you I didn't want to risk messing up the paint I just had laid down.

That is a great idea. I know many of us in CA want to mod our cars. At least we have 6 years before smog is due on a new car, but it seems like the only upcoming smog legal option that won't void a warranty will be the track key. Also the ford Perfomance parts in development that will look OEM. I was excited to read JLT has started getting its intake systems CARB approved....

Progress is taking much longer than it should. Hard to get things done with work and a newborn. Gotta get these bled tonight since we are cruising to Fabulous Fords Forever this Friday morning.

Old brakes... Sell them or coat them Deep Impact Blue?

I vote sell. Red is the classic and beautiful option for your car. Itd be like you had your old ones done for the difference, and that would make me feel better about it

I have a set of spares calipers as well, not sure what to do with em!

I think blue or red works well, anything but black that hides the beauty of those beasts

A friend of mine has a hydrodipping tank. We were thinking a deep blue with a snakeskin overlay. Then seal it with high temp paint.

Thoughts?
