I can tell you all where the market is at because I believe I have the best on the market at the moment at a price that I thought was the best value, but after 3 weeks it remains unsold.

The best offer I've had is $5k less than I was asking (and I am closer to the cheapest than the most expensive).

The heat has come out of the market but that's not to say there isn't still money to be made. The offers I've received would still net me a profit but certainly not the one I was hoping. I'm going to have to be more realistic, and now that Ford has partially addressed the waiting list, I'll need to be even more realistic to shift it. Anyone above $75k with anything more than delivery kms is absolutely kidding themselves.

Anyone after a deal, contact me.

The thing to note, too, with all this is that (as far as I can tell) there's two lots of stamp duty to deal with, one for the original purchaser, another for the second, all within a very short space of time. Wouldn't your state government love that!

Blk OZ GT the most sensible post I have seen in ages about pricing and something i have suspected for quite a while these massively inflate prices are just speculative BS. I have no doubt someone could easily flip there newly acquired car for 70ish K though...

Yes, if there is a ramp-up that would seriously make me consider it - and wonder why I didn't order 10 :). Who needs a job if you can just flip cars!!

I wonder if GM do ever go ahead with something, whether the appetite would be as great. I see some Holden folks go across to Ford because there is no Camaro (I think Corvette is a bit of a different market), but I wonder whether some of the 'generic US pony car' market has already been eaten up with Mustang's release here. I'm talking the people who have moved from Euro or Japanese sports.
im selling up my Japanese import for one of these bad boys, copping some shit from some of my jap car enthusiast but also getting some praise from the others, personally i don't care what people think of my choice i will be happy

...let's just say you're upgrading and will have the last laugh haha

JZX110 is cool and all that, but downright daggy compared to the Mustang.

Seen a Race Red Ecoboost convertible outside UNSW in Kensington today, as I drove past in my GT.

Have to say I'm not a big fan of the convertible.

To the OP,

I don't see why not. Sold my June 15' pre-order a few months ago for a decent profit without even taking delivery of the car which is yet to be delivered lol

But that particular one for $96k has been there for months and no one has touched it.
I keep a close eye on the ads, and the funny part is that guy wanted $105,000 originally

The cars up to $10k over purchase price seem to move pretty quickly, the guys asking stupid prices get nothing.

Update: Car was sold last week for $72k. More than half a dozen offers between $68-70k, one at $71k, one at $72.5k (buyer went MIA) and $72k sealed it.

At one point $85k looked possible (early January). I originally listed in mid-March (before the car had arrived) for $77,900 and was getting offers at $70k. By the time the car had arrived Ford had announced the extra 2000 cars and I had dropped the price to $72,900 and was still getting calls but mostly at $68k.

Lucky to have had 2 keen parties (one turned up with a $5k cash deposit) in the $70s.

The car was driven new off the showroom floor with just 18.8km on the clock. I never got to so much as fire it up.

Anyone fishing for high $70s and above for a manual GT coupe is dreaming.

So you made about 10K or so on a GT manual. That's better than a kick up the arse! I think you did okay, but looks like the heady days are gone.

Definitely not complaining but I also think things are easing further. Looking online today there's a lot in the 60s and low 70s whereas before it was high 70s/low 80s.

Yeah, which is why I sold the Mustang. The delivery date kept blowing out and I simply couldn't wait. Maybe I could've if I actually believed their projected delivery date but glad I didn't because it ended up 6 months beyond the initial indication when I ordered.
