Buy aftermarket springs and sways. The four piston calipers and 14 inch GT/CS brakes are more than enough for most. The Brembo set up is good for making brake dust.

Ford did ok with the PP cars but many upgrade.

I had in mind that I wanted a PP from the start, but I did test drive a GT/CS the first time I drove one. It had the 3.55 gears in a manual. Very nice car and I think the main thing I would like to have is the seats. I had the dealer bring in the PP and I'm very happy with my purchase. CS had some cool looks, but I wanted the PP goodies more than the looks on the CS.

Med, did you notice a good difference between the 3.55 to 3.73 gears on your test drive?

Get the GT/CS. Order it with 3.55s, within 6% of the 3.73s and you'll love 'em. Add the FRPP suspension, a cat back, and summer tires. I don't think you will be disappointed.

You might be able to swap the epas assembly from a pp car. Because Ford will not reprogram a epas unit. Several folks who changed the lower control arm bushings in their S197's ended up with some unintended consequences and had to live with it or purchase the FRPP Epas unit for their cars.

Can you be more specific? What advantage is there to swapping it?

I think he was wanting to gain the different epas programming from the pp cars. I don't know how it is different exactly, just that its different.

I only mentioned it because Edman951 raised the question of having his epas reprogrammed with the programming from the pp epas. The problems I mentioned were specific to the S197 when certain front suspension components were modified and Ford's refusal to reprogram their epas on the S197.
