What increases my work time: car designers that use multiple sizes for essentially the same fastener! I have many 'one size only fits one fastener' wrenches. Why do they need a bolt that is 1/16 or even 1/32 inch larger than a standard SAE bolt? I have an assortment of such wrenches...which I have never used since...except to loosen/tighten that single $%^& bolt.

I just wanna say avoid places like JiffyLube with extremely low pricing. I here too many stories where they don't even change your oil and make you pay for extras.

?..Look at the CJ Pony parts vid on installing a GT350 steering wheel.. at the end when he's putting everything back together, you can CLEARLY see they snapped one of the clips and glued it back on, he just says something like "oh be careful with those clips as they can break..."
The CJ Pony video guy always cracks us up. One time we watched I think he was upgrading an exhaust system. He would comment often on how you 'just' do <this> task, 'just' do <that>...every step was so easy. 'The installation takes approximately 2 hours'. Uh huh. :ninja:

We saw his GT350 wheel install video, too. When I was talking about getting mine installed, the guys on the forum were all, 'It is so easy. If you can use a screwdriver, you can do this yourself.' Well, I can certainly use a screwdriver, but to me comparing screwing a license plate onto a car (or similar task) to installing that thing is an extreme exaggeration.

What you DIY guys do, no matter how long it takes, is quite impressive! :D

Justified. My neighbor had a rear seal blow out after JiffyLube put too much oil in. The bill even specified overfilling it. JiffyLube told him to go fish, they weren't paying anything.

My mechanic crushes old oil filters. They are usually somewhere around 2"s tall after he's done. The JL filters are less than half of that. hmmm....

I have taken cars to JF and similar but with my own oil and filter. Just had them do the labor.... while I watched!

Do any of yall have my luck where any simple mod install NEVER goes like the instructions or video? I did a simple rear deck lid removal today (had white paper showing over the top of the decklid that was stuck on too high in the back). Watched install vid, looked very easy. Of course it wasn't.

1. the plastic part covering the latch that just "pops off" "very simple" was stuck on by superman. Thought I was going to break it trying to get it off.

2. Screws that hold the deck lid on do not line up with holes to unscrew them. Not even sure how ford screwed them on. Had to dremel out the holes to even get a socket on them.

3. Clips that hold decklid on also put on by superman. Managed to break one getting it off.

Now everything is back installed, albiet with a broken clip in the middle. Really can't tell.... still looks evenly held on but still. Anyone elses "easy" mods never go as planned/shown in videos/tutorials or just me?

YES. This happens to me with every install I've ever done EXCEPT one. The JLT oil separator went on in like 30 seconds. Oh also the clutch pedal spring removal. It literally fell out when I compressed the spring. So two exceptions.
