Yes. Thanks. My original point was addressing why the Challenger looked so much more "humungus", which it does, imho.

As to weight, that's going to be how it's equipped, but the standard factory weights seem to be very close. If you put the SRT 392 in the comparison it's 400 pounds heavier.

For several grand tune the Mustang and put on an aggressive exhaust. IMHO you will have a much better car. The Challenger is about $3G more anyway so there is room to improve the GT for the same money.

Lol what people really don't consider is the bye bye warranty. Money doesn't grow on trees guys come on! You can tune and make any car faster but what if things go wrong?

If things go wrong you dont be a girly girl about it and fix it and move on. Honestly the coyote is a tough as shit motor. Modding this car isnt a 50/50 chance of something going wrong. In my experience with seeing a lot of coyotes not many have issues. The vast majority are rock solid. Its not like some of the other tuner chassis where its a gamble. You picked one of the best engines to mod in terms of strength and dependability. If you haven't experienced the bbq tick and have 5-10k on it id start modding and not look back. It can handle double its crank hp with ease.

If i was modding for good, i would have probably gone big or go home, whipple or kenne bell, but for 30 to 40 whp spending 3 to 4 grand and no warranty makes no sense to me!

This is what cracks me up about people discussing 1/4 mile times. There is no handicap for winning/losing with warranty intact. Literally nobody cares when you lose. If you are worried about warranty and decide not to race, cool, I respect that. Then don't come in here spouting off times like you're part of the conversation. Here is something to consider too, with the Mustang being out a year longer more owners have had time to put on miles and add their mods. Makes the track interactions a little less one sided than a lot of people in here want to admit.

The Camaro has an awesome motor, no question. That being said, it is at least a 5K premium over a GT. My GT base was right around 30k when I got it a year ago - which I consider a bargain for the performance it delivers.

That is a debatable gray area. I tuned mine. If the motor blows up and Ford doesn't warranty it I buy another motor. Just don't write checks your ass can't cash.

Then you will lose races, a lot of them. Might want to suck it up now and quit talking about it. Drive it, race it, enjoy it as you should but stop talking about numbers that mean absolutely nothing if you aren't competing. You said a lot of things that truly mean nothing to the point mentioned. My 2 cents after watching:
The Challenger is really starting to look dated! It badly needs an update.

Mustang is ready for a refresh. The last redesign where it gained weight didn't do it many favors. They had to load up the Mustang with optional equipment to get the price close to the Camaro - and price is a very big deal to most buyers. I think the Mustang is very competitive for being the old platform, though. The sales figures really show it.

It's not really fair to compare a brand new Camaro to a two year old Mustang, but this is what happens. The brands typically leapfrog each other every couple years. The Camaro performs better and they brushed over the price difference, which is the main reason people will buy the Mustang over the Camaro. They put the Recaros into the Mustang, which makes it cost more and also makes the interior harder to see out of and less comfortable.

The Mustang just got a major design change and it needs a refresh? Most of the 15's have been on the road less than a year.

As for the outdated Challenger look.....most of us Challenger owners will not buy a future updated modern looking Challenger if it started to look like a "euro egg." We like the current design and the recent refresh. We don't want it to change. We buy the car because we want a modern driving car that looks like a classic. When the classic looking Challengers look like all other modern cars, I'll start driving BMW and Audi again.

Challenger owners know that their cars will never sell as much as the larger corporation (GM & Ford) products. We like that. We like having cars that are not as common on the road. We like being different and big. Many of us don't care about the price difference either. There are many Mustang guys who would have bought an SRT if it was less expensive.

The design is "timeless" because it mimics a classic design so well. It's no more outdated to us than the original. The more these retro cars depart from that formula, the more those cars will become cars that can go out of style in a few years.

As for comparing the newer (ugly) Camaro to a one year older GT.....it's fair. When the 2011 Stangs came out, and dominated SS Camaro's, no one complained. GM did not change the car much for 6 years (other than uglier head lights and tail lights on 14/15). It was fair game to compare. It is the way it is.
