The chart is showing accelerative force applied by the tire to the road at the contact patch (since the units are lbf and the tire radius is taken into account).

Once could add a chart where those values are divided by the vehicle's mass so that instead of showing force they show potential acceleration (I say potential because things like traction could be a limiting factor in certain gears).

Does it take the friction loss between the rubber and the asphalt into account? I am assuming the drivetrain loss is already in the equation and the road is completely flat.

I wouldn't even know how to buy a car based only on the criteria of subjective emotion and brand loyalty. Seriously. One car make/model that I'd specifically criticized the appearance of on first sight turned out to be the car I kept the longest (33 years).

the numbers are really only relevant to the driver.
How many pro drivers here?
Each has a different style of driving also.
So how a car performs for an individual can as much depend on the
make up of the cars performance and driving style.
Some cars need to be finessed to get the most out of, some need to be
almost abused. Most will never get close to 100% out of any performance car.

Perhaps. But what I get from various posts here and elsewhere, those two criteria seem to represent 90% of the decision for more than a few people.

I'm not sure those two reasons are even on my list, or ever were. But over the last 45 years or so I've managed to never buy a car that I didn't actively enjoy driving, and drive with more than just a little enthusiasm.
