I just think they are trying to upscale certain brands. And I am ok with that. They are having very good sales and profits lately. Also, they have lowered the price in a few of their cars. But the 1SS with all the tech and goodies stuffed with it, at $37,000 is a pretty good deal. Not a lot of cars around can do 3.9 seconds to 60, 11s in the 1/4 and get high 20s low 30s MPG on the highway. Pretty awesome metrics given the price of high 30s and completely stock.
Low 11s... Stock

It looks as if the 5th Gen sold just as well and better last year as the 2016 does in the same period. This is how a model disappears from the lineup and I told you so's get thrown around. It was a poor, poor decision...

The design is dull and bloated, even worse in person. Some of the body line placement is highly questionable or, it doesn't tie together. The front 3/4 of the vehicle is the only angle worth looking at.

The MSRP is too steep and again, I'm betting we will see a price hike fairly quickly. For being on a shared platform, I'm not sure why such a large initial increase was needed. They neutered the equipment in the name of weight and it shouldn't of had such a huge impact on the MSRP... yet it did...

The entire Alpha was a mistake let alone the Camaro based on it, a family sedan.

Some of the 1LE equipment was needed on the Camaro SS at $37,000... The brakes, wheels, tire. There isn't much they can do about it now, it's not ideal for regular street use and it is the worse platform to go with in any real Motorsport. The wheelbase alone is pitiful as is the stock track. What a mess... You can tell by the comical 50th version and the whored out 1LE that they are out of money and ideas... and powertrains...

The LT1 is nearly $4,000 more expensive, MSRP, than the LS3 for one..

Granted, Chevy didn't have much choice...they killed off the LS motors so it was either the LT1 or no V8.

The comical 6th gen maybe cartoonish to some. I could see that. But there is no denying that it is a performer. Period.

Yeah, no way in hell on stock rubber.

In their latest issue, Hot Rod (most pro-GM rag on the planet) got 12.20s out of an auto SS and 12.40s out of a manual in mineshaft air and spent most of a day running run after run doing so.

Its done high 11s stock. It cant do it year round. It must be negative da and right conditions. Its not most peoples idea of a true 11 second car.
 still damn impressive for that, 30mpg and less than 40.

there are unicorns, but lets face it less than 1% of these cars are running 11s stock..
100 percent agree. Just like the 12.3 GTs. There are hero runs that only a few can do during a certain time of year. Best to best there is at minimum 4 tenth a difference. To some that is nothing. To others it's big. Shouldn't be something that sways a purchase though. Always gonna be someone who is faster.

The price point is a bit high in my opinion. But the runflats making it into 11s is. Dont hate me zayne, im not exactly impressed by a DI v8 making 30mpg. The previous ls engines did that in vettes before DI.
