There's been so many contrary, backwards, multiplying variations of why the Camaro hasn't sold as well as the fans were expecting I can't keep the stories straight.

Supposedly they're either adding or added a 3rd Shift on a LGR and the T4 was delayed due to union issues or reworking or something.

Availability isn't an issue, if I magically produce $45,000 out of thin air I could buy a 2SS automatic and be home within 2 hours, and I'm in sleepy Southern Oregon.

There are actually more Camaro SS's available in my area than Mustang GT's and Hemi Challengers.
I have noticed someone a while back has posted that 3rd shift stuff for the plant. I thought that was back in Dec 15?

They're down 4% from last February. I honestly don't believe that a last year 5G Camaro is legitimately outselling a brand new 6G Camaro one year later. Remember that the 2015 Mustang was in production last February, and the 5G Camaro was still selling better than the 6G Camaro is now. Something is up.

I think we need to give it time for a full roll out. Like I said before, I still think the Mustang will sell better, so chill out a bit.

I kind of can, actually.

The Gen 5, for all it's faults, was a really great value at the end. For $34,500 you could get a 426 HP coupe with a touchscreen infotainment system, 4 wheel brembo brakes, a roomy (if questionable) interior, great safety and reasonable fuel economy.

For $38,000 you could get a 1SS 1LE that dramatically changed the performance of the Gen 5.

Or you could go with a 2SS at $38,300 with a HUD, ambient lighting, leather heated seats, etc..

It looked good, drove well, was comfortable and has amazing upgrade potential. Oshawa had their stuff wired down and was cranking out consistently great quality cars and made it look easy.

LGR..they're having a lot of problems, and the Gen 6 launch isn't going so hot.

Mustang 2.3 = 310HP & 320TQ
Camaro 2.0 = 275HP & 295TQ (must be using 1990 technology)
Be careful

If the Camaro 2.0T was the Camaro 2.3T at the same boost and in the same state of tune, it'd be putting out 316 HP (a wash) but 339 ft-lbs . . .

Beats me what any of this has to do with either the GT350 or the 1LE.

Whats up is a massive jump in street price for a Camaro. A 5th gen with normal discounts was pretty cheap for whatever level you wanted.

A 6th gen? Loooool. Not so much. Its now the most expensive way to get a domestic RWD coupe. Even camaro fans have issues stomaching a nearly $40K V6 Camaro.

Uh yeah, not that it matters, but you cant just use a linear equation to determine HP based on displacement changes, especially in FI applications

These both make sense. I'm not trying to justify low sales for the sake of the Camaro, I was just trying to make sense of it because it seems weird to me. It's amazing how irritated some of you guys get over nothing.

I think he was just debating the hp/L comment earlier.

I wish that was the case, he multiplied both of the camaro numbers by 1.15 (2.3/2) and came up with those numbers

I wonder what excuses the loser Camaro bitches will use for next month (March) poor sales.

Example: All the female workers got there period at the same time, so they were short of staff to complete cars on the assembly line. LOL (just kidding).

Nah, I'm not irritated. Can't say the same about the others, but I'm not, I love the 5th Gen.

The Camaro increased it's price, even adjusted for inflation, by around $3000.

A base 2011 Mustang GT automatic, adjusted for inflation to 2016 dollars, would be $34,213. A base 2016 Mustang GT automatic is $34,490..less than $300 difference.

For less than $300 more you're getting an IRS, much much better brakes, more power, better handling, a better interior, paddle shifters, better seats..etc

A 2011 GT premium automatic, adjusted for inflation, would be $37,679 now. A 2016 Mustang GT premimum auto is $38,490. For that you're getting both all of the above stuff in the GT Base PLUS heated AND cooled seats, a reconfigurable center dash display, touch screen infotainment system, drive modes and a MUCH better interior..for $811 more.

The Camaro price is nearly $4,000 more.

For 6 years now the Mustang price has essentially remained unchanged, with less than $1,000 variance while adding tons of new standard features, more power, overall a much better car.

I didn't think you were.

Well, I seem to have thoroughly gotten us off topic. Let's talk more about how the 1LE is going to obliterate the GT350 at the track. ;) :troll:

So do you guys think the 1LE will lose weight compared to the current 1SS with MRC and NPP?

Curious how the 1LE could beat a GT350 being down on power, and that power difference being in a very important range. It is going to have to carry great speed in and out of the corners, thats for sure!!
