The performance pack for the US EcoBoost also included a larger Intercooler and Boost Gauges. I asked Ford Australia about this on Facebook and have posted the exchange below. Apologies for the wall of text, but I felt it was mostly relevant:

ME - Hey guys. Boost Gauges in the centre dashboard are a standard part of the performance pack for Mustang Ecoboost, as you'd expect. After seeing AUS spec Ecoboosts I see the gauges are strangely missing.

FORD AUSTRALIA - We consider the gauge cluster to not be so much a removal for the Australian market but an (optional) addition for US spec vehicles only. Gauge packs are only available for the North American markets, it’s neither an ADR-compliant or Euro compliant issue (as our Mustang is more close in spec to the EU market than the US market). Ford has carefully consider each and every accessible features suitable for the our market. For example some of the features you’ll find in our Mustang are in fact optional features in the US; either as part of ‘Premium Package’ or ‘Performance Package’. We’ve made them standard because we feel strongly that these features are significant and appropriate for Mustang and valued highly by Australian customers.

ME - Ok, I understand what you're saying. Being an early adopter I only had the US specs to go on for so long while all this was being worked out, so it's a perspective thing that any Australian looking into the car now wouldn't have an issue with. However, it would be nice for Ford to offer some of these things as factory options that don't void the warranty, i.e. the larger Intercooler would be beneficial given our extremely hot environment here. Also, there was talk of a plug-in performance boost for Ecoboosts early last year. Has there been any word on that yet?

FORD AUSTRALIA - We can see it from your perspective too. There are plans to bring out some Ford Australia backed upgrades to Mustang. There are currently two streams of work, one being appearance items and the second being performance parts. Details are being rolled out this year. A number of small upgrades are available now at Dealerships (eg. a choice of rear spoilers and the front grill and rear applique). As for the intercooler explicitly, remember the Mustang has been developed as a world model, and has been thoroughly tested to perform equally in the cold of Europe as the heat of Australia so you should have no concern with the function of the standard intercooler. Ford did review the function of Mustangs in Australian conditions, and decided with the performance pack that comes standard in our AU models, to include the larger radiator than standard. One more point to make, any modifications done outside of Ford does not ‘void’ your Mustang’s warranty. Should you have any concern in the warranty period, we would diagnose the concern on a case by case basis. If a manufacturing defect is found to be the cause of the concern, your warranty would cover it. It would hardly be fair for us to ignore an air con concern on your Mustang just because you modified the exhaust, for example.

Haha its just a thought.... I cant work out why it would be so common. Its quite a simple fix.

is that at a dealer? Or has the catch been adjusted?
Some dealers might even consider the bonnet pinch a misalignment and fix it before the customer even sees the car, while others leave it until the customer says they want it fixed.
Nearly every other AUS delivered vehicle pictured on this forum has had some bonnet pinch.


But yes this one pictured looks great, if thats how it came off the boat, thats a good thing!
If not, no big deal... Its probably the easiest 'issue' to fix.
Which is why its unusual it is still an issue on so many cars delivered so far.... Which was the point i was making previously.

But we miss out on the oil pressure gauges and such like that the US Performance Pack has in the centre dash. Not particularly useful for most of us, perhaps, but I'd prefer to have them, if only for aesthetic reasons.

I'm not 100% convinced this car doesn't have the issue. At least from that angle, although the gap is slightly narrower in the centre than at each end, which would correspond with slight bonnet pinch from an angle that's not directly overhead. I was looking at one yesterday (my neighbour's!) and it has a slight bonnet pinch but looks okay from above. It will look okay from above if the bonnet is sitting square. It's from the front angle that the bonnet pinch will become more obvious. Can anybody confirm how this looked from the front?

If I want to buy a toyotacorrolla which comes from Japan ,I have all options available from a list to choose from . Why wouldn't ford offer the same options through out the world instead of deciding what's good for Europe,Asia & us guys! I would of loved to have the gauge pack recaro's but ford decided that each and every accessible market!!! What is that ? Don't they want too make as much money as they can like the other companies!
I know it's too late now buy who does this research on what other markets want ???

Yes, absolutely agree. We are supposed to having 'our' car built at the factory, so I'd like to, say, have the proper stitching instead of the fake, the centre guages instead of vents, etc. I understand that some things can't be available as a result of ADRs, etc. Oh, and Torsen diff, check. Probably just adds up to too much inventory = too much cost. But a proper JIT system should make this happen. The Japanese are masters at this, the US clearly not.

I like the idea of the Recaros, but I don't think they'd be comfortable for me as I have pretty big legs and a wide-ish back. I can't fit properly into the seats of my old Celica anymore. The downside of doing weights I suppose.

And on another matter, black GT fastback spotted at Q Super Centre on Bermuda Street (is that Mermaid Waters?) yesterday afternoon. I was looking at it for a while and many people walked past without paying any attention, except for a couple who looked like they came straight off the set of Housos (woman looked almost exactly like Shazza). But my neighbour says that he not driving his Race Red GT for a few days as he's sick of everyone looking, and touching and following him on the highway, etc.

Yeah, it was actually a loss for both the GT and EcoBoost, but I can't see how it would even factor into which Mustang you chose or indeed whether you bought one at all. :shrug:

Just spotted my first pony in the wild in edensor park !! Race red very nice , but me being a little old school I think it needs lowering a inch . Just to fill out huge wheel arches

With the performance pack I think comes the Line Locker which they say is not ADR compliant
