Can we talk shifters and shifting?

good for you, you have a fluke, too bad some of us got locked out of 1-2 or 2-3 shifts at higher rpms. Heck during normal driving 1-2 shift doesnt always cooperate and go in easily. Or the slow shift from 2-3 or else you get a grind. All of that went away with an aftermarket shifter

It doesn't bother me that you enjoy inferior products and try to justify them. I just don't blieve in leaving crap on my car but it seems like you are fine with it. It's typical of your type.

I'm not sure what my "type" is? Where did I say that the stock shifter was better, or that I would be keeping it? Point that out for me.

I don't need to tell myself anything. Shifting my car at WOT at 7300 RPMs has not given me any lockouts or miss shifts. You seem very upset that my experience has given me a different opinion. I even posted a video of me shifting my stock shifter without a single issue at 7300.

I stated that an aftermarket shifter offers much better feel, but I don't find it necessary, as my experience has given me no problems with the stock one. This clearly upsets you. It's actually kind of amusing.

I had a few isssues like that on the mustang I test drove and mine. At 300 miles I ended up installing a blowfish bracket. That helped but the shifts were still notchy. Swapped that for a MGW and wow! IMO, a shifter is a must because you will enteract with it more than anyother part. It is actually my favorite mod; makes driving the car more enjoyable. When you think about the cost, all of the shifters are less than 1 month payment lol.

Now, after changing the fluid, boomba solid mount with my MGW; I have never driving a car that shifts smoother. You won't be able to say that about the stock shifter unless it is your first manual.

Grinding during normal driving is synchronizer related. But glad the shifter solved your issues. I will update to an MGW eventually, but at this point, I don't find it necessary.

I'm still not sure what my type is, though. I'd love to know.

I installed the Boomba Racing shifter bracket a couple weeks back and it made a huge improvement in the stock shifter. It's now much tighter, almost all the slop is gone, and it's much easier to find gears shifting both up and down. It won't be as good as a whole new shifter but for 20% the cost and 20 mins to install it's a great compromise. By installing this mod along with a lighter clutch spring I don't even feel like I need an aftermarket shifter anymore.

This is my exact install this weekend, along with a bg fluid swap. You still liking the blowfish? i ordered a steeda clutch spring to go along with it, just the light weight one to bring the clutch back fully.
