I'm doing the same bushings .. Anxious to see how you make out

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pulling everything out was pretty straight forward, took me a couple hours. I will be assembling my shop press and hope to get the bearings in by Wednesday. The reassembly is going to kick my but I'm sure. But only because I have about 6 unfinished mods going on at once lol. I'll post up my results as they finnish

Jmeo Jaime love the photos of your garage setup. Always look forward to seeing your updates and mods your adding. I just had the BMR lca bushings installed and the BMR diff and cradle bushings which I would highly recommend. Past weekend took it through Mulholland Hwy and what a difference! Looking forward to seeing pics when latest round of installs completed. As always you have one beautiful car my friend

Thanks Dennis I appreciate the kind words. I need to ride in someone's car that has the bushings installed before I go that far. I am just too afraid to change the ride. Honestly though I think my wheel hop is gone and if it's not I may have to bite the bullet.

Your car is out of this world and perhaps my second favorite color to boot. I fell in love with ruby red when I saw spy photos of the not yet released 2015 F150 and I knew it had to be that color. I didn't want both vehicles the same color so I chose maggy for the car. I love keeping up on other builds and yours is one of my favorites.

Be safe and remember, shiny side up

Thanks for the updated brake pictures. Can't wait to see them on your car. Going to try and have my calipers powder coated by the Ford Nationals :)

Took me years to get one. I'm old now otherwise I couldn't get my ass off the floor. Lifts are not as expensive as one might think. This one cost me $2,800 installed 10 years ago so it has paid itself off and some. Just picked up a 4 post for suspension work and winter storage and that's only $1,500.

Not exactly cheap but for what I can save by doing my own work it's a no brainier. Without a doubt have saved more in only 5 years time than I paid for both.
Got any houses around you for sale? I think I need to move near you :headbang: I'm severely jealous of your garage.

Well, got them today and unfortunately Ace Ventura delivered the box so there was some damage :(
That really sucks, Jaime. I was JUST thinking about that since I've had a few issues with FedEx over the past 2 weeks. I am certain Ace Ventura is my route courier... lol

So, I've been working on this mod ever since I got my GT350 rear valance/exhaust kit. I contacted a good friend of mine who works at Ford and between him and Benny from LevittownFordSuperCenter a complete kit was put together for the rear valance under belly pan.

After driving in one rain storm and seeing all the road crap that was flung up from the rear wheels clogging up the mesh from the inside out I knew I had to get this pan. If anyone is interested I will supply the part numbers and quantities and I am sure Benny has jotted them down as well. I can't install yet as my rear suspension is all pulled out right now for more suspension work and things but I will post install pictures when it's all back in. Not exactly cheap but to me it's worth it.

I guess I shouldn't have taken the pictures on my living room rug because you really don't notice the 6 bolts and 2 clip nuts next to the respective part they are used with lol.

I especially like the way it's designed to scoop the air as it travels under the car and direct it up and out the rear valance vents.

Yes, that's definitely an awesome feature along with protecting the wheels and rear valance. :ford:

Today I got my BMR LCA bearings installed. I had this planned for months and thought I was prepared but nope lol.

First I assembled my 20 ton shop press. I was excited to use it but soon found out the LCA could not be placed into the press far enough to align with the push rod no matter how I angled it. I guess I shoulda bought a more expensive one like the one shown in BMR's instructions and not a harbor freight press lol.

Next I rented the ball joint press tool from AutoZone but the "C" clamp in this kit is not big enough to accommodate all the pieces needed with the size of the LCA included....... Shit!

So I waited another day because gsxr1300 purchased a used Full Tilt Boogie press tool from another member and he offered to let me use it. Well, that was a no go as well. I assembled the tool and gave it hell but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't budge it, even with my air impact gun!

So, what am I to do? NOT give up that's for sure! I was not about to be beat so I broke out the big guns lol

I purchased this plasma cutter 8 months ago to install a 6" BDS suspension lift on my truck, The frame has a crossmember that needs to be trimmed and a gusset plate welded. Anyway, I either fly the white flag of defeat or adapt and overcome so..........

This was only my second time using a plasma cutter so please be easy on me lol. Two 1/2 circles later and wham!

(I cleaned up the cuts with a grinder shortly later though)

Let me tell you, this is how to press a bushing, bearing or what have you. What a difference, these things just popped out!

Now, I found out why I couldn't get them out with hand tools. The dissimilar metals had started to bond even though I only have 3,500 miles on my car. Check out what happened to one of the LCA's.

That 2" sliver you see on the floor next to the LCA and bushing is aluminum that ripped out with the bushing. It gouged up the LCA as you can see in the picture above.

This brings me to why I decided to get BMR's LCA bearings. Theirs is unique in how it has the stepped end that bottoms out reassuring you that it's in all the way and then uses a snap ring on the other side to guarantee its not going anywhere. This would have made installing the FFRP Toe Link/Knuckle bearing a lot easier that's for sure. It's because of this that I am able to get passed the damage to the LCA and be rest assured it's not going anywhere. I asked around and have been told it's pretty common for holes to be damaged removing bushings/bearings so this could happen to you as well but if you have the BMR bearing you are good to go!

I started the install but I'm in a holding pattern waiting for my FFRP 1/2 shafts to come back from being rebuilt so here is where I left off till then
