So....... I did a thing....


Today I made the deposit required to get my 2020 GT500 in the queue to become a Shelby American Wide Body car. To say I am excited is an understatement. This is a big deal, and one I didn't take lightly. Some will never agree with it, some will, but thats ok because it's my decision to make. My wife and I are extremely excited, and look very much forward to the end result in give or take 9 months from now. Below is what I went with.


Signature Edition Exterior/Interior:

Dry carbon fiber, ventilated hood

Congrats! You are gonna love it. I think they did a great job with the Signature Edition preserving what makes the car great and just adding to it. Should still be a very capable, if not more capable, track car when they are done with it. Which you couldn't always say about Shelby American post title packages in the past.

Thanks Jared! I agree with you, the canvas they started with was pretty amazing by itself, so I am glad they didn't take anything away from it, and made good decisions as to what to add to it. I can't believe I will be going back "in production" and have to start another long wait, but it will be pretty amazing in the end.

Today I received the Ford Print of my 2020 GT500, which I ordered from the owners kit that was delivered last month. I am very happy with how it came out, and I am vey glad I decided to purchase it. I am leaving it wrapped until I get it to work, and hang it in my office.

Do you have a link to order this from? I got my owners kit today, but see no mention of a place to order this print from.

EDIT: Answered my own question with further searching after coming up empty.

We are getting closer, the car may get picked up this week to go to Shelby!

Also, I am wondering what interest there may be in some take off parts from my original car???

Stock hood (bare, no vent, pins, or hardware)
Side skirts
who knows what else....

I will be selling all factory parts that come off for the SE conversion.

This thread has taken a detour while the car is being transformed at Shelby American, but my good friend Marcus @Terminated sent me the first of many photos he took a few months ago, and man she’s a būte. Thanks buddy, cant wait to see the rest of them.

Received my Raceseng tow hook. I had been going back and fourth on painting the ring body color, or just leaving it black. I ended up filling in the R with FPB, and I like the outcome.

Ha! I have a feeling it would have been tougher to do with a moving R, had I partaken in any of those surrounding bottles.

Do you plan on selling the OEM wheels/tires? Looks like you purchased new wheels and tires before the car went to Shelby, but the pics you posted in another thread of your car in front of Shelby American it had the OEM wheels on it. Depending on price and when you want to sell them, I may be interested in the OEM stuff. (Selling next week, I am not going to be able to swing it, but I am assuming your car will be at Shelby for a while, so probably won't be willing to sell until they are done with it.) I live in Las Vegas, could always save you from having to ship them back to you, since I assume your SE will have new wheels/tires. Just figured I would ask.

Hi Doug,

I had purchased a set of Signature SV302S wheels, and a new set of tires, which are the ones you have seen in pictures. Once I decided to get the Signature Edition, and Wide Body from Shelby, I returned the car to stock. I sold the Signature wheels to another forum member.

Yes, I will be selling all the factory GT500 parts, including the wheels. I would most certainly be interested in selling the wheels & tires to you. We are looking at roughly 6-9 months before that happens, so if you would like to make arrangements to do this, shoot me a PM and we can work out the particulars.
