I've had bracket one for months, about 7500 miles and haven't had bounce in the hood. Version is still great, but I guess there can always be better? I won't be ordering v2 but good to see they're improving for those who had issues!

Did redline release V2 because V1 had issues or is V1 still OK to run with? I haven't noticed anything wrong but I have been burned more than once with early edition mods on this car already.

They say they released it to support aftermarket hoods. But, the new brackets also benefit those with the factory hoods because they have a bigger surface area to provide more support. This picture shows the smaller V1 and the larger V2. I'll also be doing a video tomorrow showing the before and after difference.

Can someone please give me the dimensions of the red colored piece that goes into the fender please? Is it 1" or 1.5" ? Thanks!

This is interesting because I specifically asked redline in the original thread on them about this flex being an issue and they told me it wasn't a problem. Glad they stepped up with a fix.

Thanks redline for updating the bracket and offering it to existing customers at a discount! That's the way customer service should be all the time.
Thank you, we are always looking to improve our products!

Just to make sure, but if I order a strut kit from you now will it include the updated brackets?

Not to speak for them, but I ordered mine over a month ago and it had the new brackets.

I just got done watching a youtube video of this install. The holes on the passenger side look WAY bigger than the holes on the ones I bought. They even look bigger than the holes inthe above pic of the whole kit. The washer clip was no where near fitting correctly on mine. And I know my hood was aligned properly. All gaping is perfect.

I know the holes in my current set (not installed) are no where near this big. Did redline change up the brackets with bigger holes to acomadate the washer fluid clip deal? If so, how can I get those updated ones sent to me. I sure would love to install them if the holes are bigger.

Take the step drill bit that they include to widen the hole, then hit it with some rustoleum or something. That's what I did.

Also, I believe the 350 kit uses a different bracket. I'm guessing Redline relaxed their tolerances a little and widened the hole a bit. Either way, it's an easy fix

I would rather not do that. I hate to spend 100.00 on something I have to modify to make work. I'd rather not put it on at all if that is the case.

That's your prerogative. I gave you a quick easy solution to your problem. I don't think redline has an updated bracket, so your only solution is to widen the hole yourself (which is actually easy with that drill bit they provide), or mess with your hood.

But if you just want to vent, don't let me get in your way. :headbonk:
