Second attempt for question...

UPRjoe...

I have the Dual Valve system installed...you stated that UPR will have a 'free' upgrade available. How do Dual Valve owners arrange to get the upgrade?

We have the CSCC kits for sale and you can just contact Steve at 561-588-6630 to get an order placed. These are a secondary system that works in conjunction with the UPR Dual Valve Catch Can. The packages are at an introductory price of $229.99 currently. They will go up as the sensor setup that is included is very expensive.

Also we have not updated anything with the Dual Valve Catch Can itself as the CSCC is a completely separate system.

The NEW CSCC - Clean Side Catch Can is a stand alone system and has nothing to do with the Dual Valve setup and is to protect the passenger side coming from the valve cover to eliminate the smoking tailpipes at idle and WOT. It will eliminate th problem with excessive boost pushing oil out the clean side into the Turbo inlet.

Sorry for the newbie question: I just got a '16 EB and I have been reading about the smoke on this cars and truly I cannot say that I noticed anything. However, that doesnt mean that it doesnt smoke. Since my car still original (No mods yet), if I understand correct, Ford will have this CSCC released for all the Mustang owners, like if it was as recall ? Or if not, what is the advantage in getting and how much that will cost ? Since your statement is that CSCC is different than a Catch Can, is it recommended to get it and what advantages I get by doing so? By getting the catch can, is my warranty potentially void ? Thanks for taking your time in answer my question to this "not mechanically inclined mustang owner" ! If you were near by, I would by the beer on me:cheers:

I'm glad you asked and just to clear the air anything from Ford as fixes are not going to address the real problem. The real obstacle is the fact that the boosted applications require more advanced solutions to control oil that require systems that can control the clean side of the PCV system on the passenger valve cover that draws it's fresh air from the Turbo inlet right at the end of the air intake.

Next the dirty side will have to be protected and that is where the bulk of the oil control issues occur and catch cans are installed. This is the line that runs from the driver side of the block next to the to the connector behind the throttle body to pull vacuum to evacuate the throttle body. During idle and normal driving it will pull vacuum and then part throttle to wide open throttle it gets pressurized and boost floods the crankcase.

This is when the UPR CSCC and UPR Dual Valve Catch Can work as a team and function exactly how boosted engines and PCV systems need them to be controlled. The UPRDual Valve Catch Can has a check valve in the line from the throttle body to the crankcase and it will close under boost and eliminate and boost seepage.

This check valve also allows the intake manifold to get a cleaner stronger boost signal and by reducing the amount of boost and positive pressure in the crankcase. While that is happening the WOT = wide open throttle line on the UPR dual valve catch pulls vacuum from the turbo inlet providing a strong source that evacuates the crankcase of blow-by and positive pressure.

Now anything excessive blow-by that makes it by the rings under WOT / hard acceleration through the gears and that is where the UPR Clean Side Catch Can provides the oil control for any oil that gets pushed out the clean side and dumps directly into the turbo inlet.

This is the dreaded blue smoke condition everyone refers to. We have worked hard on the system while everyone was busy flooding the market with as many products as they could produce as well as catch cans. We worked on just perfecting a few items and the UPR suspension and UPR catch can systems are what take the spotlight in the Mustang Ecoboost world.

I hope this gives you a better understanding of the UPR Catch Can System and the Mustang Ecoboost PCV system need for a more complex Catch Can System to be able to make it perform flawlessly.

Thank you, Joe

Great explanation Joe!

I just installed it yesterday and will list the write up for the install; I put the write up on FB with pics but for some reason M6G does not like my pics :(

This is really dumb, but is it possible to install the single valve wrong? I've had this guy (http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-billet-plug-n-play-catch-can-separator-15-sc.html) installed for over a month and have had no return.
It's not really dumb as it's a common mistake to reverse the lines or have the valve backward.

Check your mounting and check valve flow direction. Make sure the check valve arrow is facing away from the catch can on the hose that connects to the front of the intake manifold on the right side of the UPR catch can. Email me at [email protected] and I will walk you through the install.

I emailed you. I want to make sure we have our directions straight.

The arrow should face away on the passenger side of the catch can? I'm assuming by "right" side you mean while seated in the car.

Basically, car's right or my right while looking at the engine?

good info in this thread. Will have to get one of the dual stage catch cans for the wife's Ecoboost. Seems like a no-brainier towards longevity on any turbo setup.

Nothing caught in the CC for quite awhile...

I installed the UPR Dual CC as soon as I got the EB. At 500 miles, the CC had collected only a teaspoon or so of oil. Now at 2,000 miles...not a drop.
So am I driving so economically that I don't get blow back or might there be another reason? Yes...the one way valves are oriented correctly and I did check that they were working.

I have the Dual CC and I've got 18,000 miles on my 2015 EB now with an oil change every 6,000 to match my Subaru's. At 6,000 miles there's maybe a 1/2 cup max. I drive spiritedly but not aggressively if that makes sense.
