I noticed this last weekend but didn't really pay much attention at the time until this evening.
This evening i changed my sidelight bulbs to LED, simply because i couldn't bear to see that warm orange glow from the filament bulb next to the white crisp headlights blar blar blar...
On testing the sidelights i noticed that if you turn the lighting dial to "0" i.e. lights off, it automatically turn on the front fog lights, even when driving. Now, regardless that these may be classed as "driving lamps" in the handbook, i am wondering what the fuzz's take would be if you came across an over enthusiastic cop? In my younger day when i thought it was cool to drive on sidelights and fogs, i actually got pulled and fined, so was wondering on others thoughts?
As an off topic comment, i also noticed that our sidelights are ass about face compared to the US versions. On the Euro cars, the sidelights are on the inner side of the indicators and the US versions are on the outside of the indicator (just a anal observation
