Another observation... all Car Washes in our area must use recycled water. :frusty:

I guess I shouldn't complain, we got some awesome year round driving roads here that kind of make it worth while.

There are lots of rinseless car washing products that can clean your car with only 2 buckets of water. I've used Optimum No Rinse (ONR) and had good results with it. There are plenty others out there if you search.

Either way one should never use a rail type automatic carwash regardless what kind of car you drive.

Srs? If you're too lazy to wash it yourself at least pay for a mobile auto detailer to come clean it for you while you sit at home in your monogrammed robe and browse the stock market, you know you can afford it.

I just... facepalm man. It's like a car guy cardinal sin to go through an automatic wash.

There are some good ones....but they are few and far between.

you have to do you homework before you commit.

I have one by mean...zero things touch the car....the guide rails are low and plastic not metal. It is in a "well to do" area, so the kids working their appreciate a good car.

Bentley, BWM, Merc, even Lambos use this wash.

I think the minimum is a drive in bay type touchless if one feels lazy unless you drive a rusty piece of crap then don't care.

This is the type I use when it's a bit too chilly in Ohio to hand wash it.

Damn Man... That hurts me and its not even my car. I feel your pain. It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't kind of deal for sure. It's obvious that they allow car washes to be in business, so I'd look around for a reputable detailer to take care of your baby. You will pay through the nose for the kind of service most of us feel your car deserves. I'm different, but I'd get references and want to see their work before I'd trust them with my baby. Anyone know of a hand wash car wash in the South/West San Jose area?? The only choice we have here is to go to a public car wash since washing your car at home is now against the law!

Deep Reflections in LG does a really nice job for detailing and regular washing.

Those criticizing the OP for taking through a car wash are ridiculous. Especially with the "Buys 50k car, takes through $5 wash comments." I've seen plenty of $60-$90k+ BMWs, Merc, and Lexus being ran through these car washes. It's not the best option when trying to clean your car but it's not the end of the world. I'm sure some of you use the same bucket and never wash your wash mitts after each wash. You're introducing practically the same effects.

For those in tight water regulations, give ONR Waterless Wash a try. I use it to wash our vehicles inside from the cold and it works wonders.

I handwash my car every week, whoever said that washing your car in California is misinformed. Every city has their own regulations due to the drought. There are certain times where we are restricted from using water and other times we're allowed....to be honest, I wash my car whenever I want.

Cops have better things to do than respond to a person washing their car:lol:

Try that in your driveway when it's below zero if you really want an ice skating rink in the road in front of your house.

Oh and by the way - you'll have to do it often due to all the salt spray on the road.
