Ya, There is a water shortage there.
Back in the late 80's I got a ticket for washing my truck during a water shortage in Hollywood Florida. $150.00 fine but luckily the State prosecutors office threw the case out and I didn't have to pay.

Anyone know of a hand wash car wash in the South/West San Jose area?? The only choice we have here is to go to a public car wash since washing your car at home is now against the law!

Park the car on the lawn, strip down, and then "take a shower" in the front yard. The car is just getting a collateral cleaning.

Sorry to see the damage OP! Hopefully the repairs are cheap and easy.

We haven't watered our lawn since August, 2014.

Totally bummed to hear the car washes are a no-go considering one of my buddies is the GM for all the Classic Car Washes. However, I am thankful it happened to Stevdug first! oh, man that's messed up... sorry Stevdug!! ;)

You always hand wash a nice car. PERIOD! My GT350 will never go to an car wash machine or high velocity spray wash.

Seems like a great product and I am sold. However, I like to dry the car using one of the blue towels (the ones used on surgeries/not used of course)-(I get from the O.R I work- and I havent seen any scratches by doing that or residuals from the towel. I use one for the outside and toss out. another one for the inside/doors and to the garbage it goes. I used to use armor all in the dash and wheels, just because I like the shine looks. But I havent done to my new car yet....just the wheels.

Swirl marks come from contaminants in the water or in the sponge/towels used during the wash. Use new sponge or wash towels each wash. Change out
Soap and water before it gets so dirty where you are picking up contaminants and then rubbing them into the paint. A real chamois is great for drying because they show dirt very easily. When it gets dirty wash it or replace it before drying the car again. Swirl marks don't just appear on there own guys.

Gonna get me a dedicated leaf blower/vacuum (brand new of corse) and use the Rain-X Spot Free car wash soap, should work better than towels for drying.

The difference being with the leaf blower your just pushing the water around where the heated blower is evaporating it.

It was a nice day out today so I decided to drive the mustang to work and give it a quick wash before work. I went to the auto wash I normally use but found out the hard way the Shelby splitter is a lot lower than my C7. Guy was guiding me in and then blam! The driverside corner of the splitter took a direct spear from the guide rail of the wash. I know a lot of you don't like to auto wash but this a new reason not to.

At your full service car wash establishment, ask if they do "off track" car washes. A little more $ but, worth it to avoid this type of situation or, problems with wide wheels & tires.

Make sure it's electric. Gas leaf blowers vent exhaust through the nozzle.

Taking a GT350(R) to an automatic car wash should be illegal. Don't understand how folks can do that to their cars.
