A catch can is definitely a wise investment, especially for any vehicle with direct-injection. In the case of the EcoBoost, we performed extensive testing to evaluate which portion of the CCV system was producing the most oil. Our findings led us to develop a PCV-side catch can system and we have had fantastic results with the kit.I'm sure that you are aware of the catch can oil issue. So many threads at the other side.
Does this catch can oil convince you or do you think it is waste of money?
Did anyone install one?
What brand did you choose and why?
Results?
They do the same but how it holds, collects and works with the factory PCV system is key. Ours includes a check valve to ensure a tight seal when your at WOT (not in vacuum) With out can's diffuser, you will hold more oil, moisture and contaminates then any other out there. There are many brands: Mishimoto, JLT, UPR etc.
Basically they all do the same job.
Not sure if you want oil/fuel/moisture going back into the motor as that is just as bad as it sitting in the manifold and getting into the runners. The ford one works off the factory pcv only so when you go WOT, everything will still get by and its not a tight seal. Depending on the filtration they use, we do not know if it will hold much. The FRPP one is best, no maintenance required as it put the oil back in the engine.
