I finally factory ordered my mustang and its gonna be a 3 month wait, and I am so gonna order some mods during the waiting period. Just getting curious that do people keep the factory parts like the exhaust in their garage or just throw them away? As i assume no one's gonna be interested in buying the factory exhaust anyways.

Depends on the part. When I changed the exhaust on my current 2015 I let the shop keep the old one. When I had a 2012 and 2010 Shelby I sold the Axel Backs, as they are popular.

I still have parts like springs for cars I have not owned in years. lol

I have kept all of mine. As I order stuff, the one's I replace, I put them in the boxes the the new equipment came in. I have learned thru out many years of modding that if you throw anything away, you may need it later on.

Keep it all, never know when you will want to go back to stock.

Hmm.... So it's pretty likely that the modding shop might not buy those exhaust then...

Everything in a big box except the exhaust which is hanging from the basement ceiling.

I'm up for putting everything back to stock on my cars but I AM NOT changing the headers back to OEM. Screw that! I'll burn the car to the ground before I crawl back under it just to put the OEM manifolds back on.:D

I usually give mine away if the person receiving the parts pays for shipping.

There is always interest in factory parts. Cutting, tinkering, switching up setups.

It's just that i'm still living in school res so it's impossible for me to keep all the parts. So i guess send it to someone might be the way to go then

Exhaust went into the dumpster, there was zero interest.

Sold the wheels/tires/tpms.

The rest of the stuff that came off for the supercharger install (engine cover, manifold, fuel rails, throttle body, airbox, sound tube, hood vents etc.) are sitting in the garage. Not sure what to do with them at this point. Figured in a few years some guys that dumped theirs & want to go back to stock before selling their cars may want them.

I keep everything. If I was buying a used vehicle like a performance pack gt, I would prefer it be all original, and that's how mine will be sold. Aftermarket stuff is fun but it all has trade offs that can cheapen the overall feel if the previous owners vision wasn't identical to your own. When I see a vehicle with a bunch of "mods" thrown at it, I generally wouldn't want it unless it was being offered way below typical market value to make up for all the time and money I would have to spend to undo a bunch of little annoying garbage.

High quality bolt on parts that can be installed/uninstalled without molesting the car at all can be acceptable but I cringe when I see someone shitting up a car to the point of no easy return.

Cliffs: old man status.

I took my exhaust to the scrap yard but I've kept everything else. Most people prefer to buy a car in stock form when it comes time to sell.
