I want to do this to mine for the same reasons. What tools did you use? Any insight before I just start grinding out the blocked holes?

Did you remove it from the car first? Looks great.

Yes! As you can see the first bumper had license plate holes, I want replacing my bumper so figured I might as well do it at the same time

So you opened up the sealed honey combs on the grille using an orbital sander from the back side? Any more insight?

Any notice to temp drops from increased air to engine bay?

Correct! It took some time but over all I liked the outcome. Haven't paid attention to the temps actually.

And you had to remove the entire bumper, correct?

So I just completed this. So I have two grilles now, grille delete and sanded version. Not sure which I'm going to install yet, but both are super easy to do. I used a angle grinder on both. A thin cut off wheel for the grille delete, which was like cutting butter, and a 80 gritt sanding disc for the sanding. Sanding is more time consuming but there's very minimal chance of error this route. If sanding you need to take your time as the plastic heats upto a melting point if you keep at it. Do this in a well ventilated area with some eye protection. Where some pants and shoes unless you want the risk of hot plastic burning your piggies. I like this mod a lot. The only thing I don't like about the sanded grille is the pony. I kind of want to eliminate it. Super cheap mod though! Removing the bumper is super easy!! If you are afraid of this don't be. Literally took me 15 minutes or less after I had the car in the air and wheels off.

So all you do is sand it all from the back? Might do this and paint the grilled more flat black
