Exactly. And it's going to come at a premium. They're not going to offer a 500 that is much quicker than an R and it be the same price.
That, my friend,....you can count on.
I'm actually chatting with someone on another Mustang forum whom sells Mustangs for a living and does a good job at it and says, the new GT500 will probably sticker at mid 70's. Then,.....factor in the ADM and then you have a car that costs between 80-100K!!!!! :eyebulge: :eyebulge: :eyebulge: LOL

Dude you literally bought a camaro and talked about how you liked the looks of it hahaha.
But I sold it didn't I. I was nuts I guess. Merry Christmas ......it's really a great performer. Daul mode exhaust sounded better then the 15 Z51 I had.

I know Andrew. I saw your post in another thread.
That car with just a few mods can get close to 700 at the wheels. Exterior is growing on me but that damned interior just looks like ass.

Yeah. A DOHC 6.2 is basically he same thing has an LT1. You're right.

No more SS sedan. And I really hope you're joking. But it doesn't seem like you are.
Lol, shit I missed DOHC. In that case, a DOHC 6.2 is a big ass motor. Wonder what GM has their sleeves

I agree.
I like some oif the interior, but some of it really bothers me.
What really bothers me is that rear spoiler. But, aftermarket will fix that! lol

I know, right?!?
I would still stay with the GT500. Not to say the Z06 isn't an awesome car, but I like the Mustang looks better. That's just my opinion.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers but my 2017 GT350 base at MSRP was just over 60k out the door. Only the initial base GT350s without coolers and upgraded suspension were 50k. Add 2-3 grand for electronics or tech pack. Most GT500s went for 60k+ as well.

My guess is they will start around 64,999, unless they have a base and R model like the GT350. I could see a GT500 non-performance pack for 59,999 but loaded closer to 69,999.
Ok but the GT350 based at $50k originally, they are $54,570 now when added the coolers etc. We're talking BASE price and build from there though. Obviously not many get a base car but only way to compare prices in a legitimate way between brands; the cost of entry.

The GT500 2014 had a base price of $55,110. Why would all the sudden the base price of a new GT500 go up $10k? Unless it is some crazy hp number car that justifies that price. It was already pushing 682hp as was.

The ZL1 has a base price of $61,140. The Hellcat is $62,495 base. Again, my bet is Ford comes in at $60-61k starting price to undercut both slightly. Further you can slap a FRRP supercharger on a 5.0 now and make 727hp under warranty for $10k on top of a GT.

They arent going to sell very many at a base price of $65k; but hypothetically it will be the highest hp production muscle car car on the road.

Especially if they use a twin turbo 5.0 and dont need hand build custom engines like the 5.2s were. That certainly jacked up costs a lot along with development of a special purpose FPC motor.

Exactly. And it's going to come at a premium. They're not going to offer a 500 that is much quicker than an R and it be the same price.
Why not? It's "faster" in a different way, straight vs track, different applications.

Also the R is only that much more expensive than a non R because of the carbon fiber wheels mostly. Even if you figure at cost to Ford those are something like $2k a wheel (they MSRP for $3500 to 4k each so figure markup), so $8k right there in extra part cost. Those are not needed when you are talking high hp numbers really.

absent the wheels the R is really just a $55,000 GT350 without the rear seats and a different spoiler.
