If Ford does bring out a GT500, it's gonna be expensive. If it's going to be faster than an R (it's going to have to be) it may be north of 70k grand.
I think Ford will keep the price just south of $70k ADM will be a whole other thread-naught in and of it's self.

I think it will follow the 350 pattern of a regular and R model, Since the mustang doesn't have to stay in the shadow of a halo car like the Camaro has to because of the Vette, Ford will have it's hands free with the R in terms of price and performance.

That would be a great marketing tool for sure.

You can still spend less and FI a GT and be faster than a ZL1...
In a straight line? No doubt. Now go make a GT that can lap a 1:25.88, and keep a full warranty.

Modding is a whole other thing. If we're talking dollar for dollar, I'll buy a C5 Vette for 10k and spend 20 on it and be very fast. See what I mean?

And it's working for them. GM is running into the problem that the Camaro IS becoming a cheaper corvette while being more practical. There is no way I'd buy a Z06 now for 100k when I can buy a ZL1 with the same engine for 65k. The only place a Z06 can really outperform a ZL1 will be on a racetrack by tenths. No doubt Ford will benchmark the ZL1 and make sure the GT500 at least matches if not exceeds it in some categories like the Camaro and the S550. So where does the Camaro go from there? The C8 going mid engine 120k+maybe.

I'm having a hard time believing that the Camaro would be more fun at the track than a GS Corvette. I'm also not sure why it's more practical.

I guess I'm going to have to drive both next spring and find out for myself.
