And it's working for them. GM is running into the problem that the Camaro IS becoming a cheaper corvette while being more practical. There is no way I'd buy a Z06 now for 100k when I can buy a ZL1 with the same engine for 65k. The only place a Z06 can really outperform a ZL1 will be on a racetrack by tenths. No doubt Ford will benchmark the ZL1 and make sure the GT500 at least matches if not exceeds it in some categories like the Camaro and the S550. So where does the Camaro go from there? The C8 going mid engine 120k+maybe.
Wouldn't a Z06 spank the ZL1 at a drag? I believe with a DR the A8's can run into the 10's.

ZL1 is badass I'll be honest.. but the C7 Z06 would be my car of choice easily. Even with the overheating issues lol

ZL1 is badass I'll be honest.. but the C7 Z06 would be my car of choice easily. Even with the overheating issues lol
DRs have hit 10s easily I believe.

Not bad. around a second quicker in the 1/4 over the GT350 and around .6 seconds faster than the GT350R. I'm a bit surprised at the weight... these are actually coming in heavier than the GT350 but they have the power advantage for sure.

The Gen 6 ZL1 weight shouldn't bother anyone..that's fairly light for a car in this class based on a sedan platform at this price point.

As a reference..the Gen 6 ZL1 is about the same weight as a Gen 5 2SS auto car..the old ZL1 was either almost or just over 4,200lbs.

Compare it to the previous generation GT500 if you want a quick 1/4 mile car. The ZL-1 is most likely at a disadvantage to the old GT500 - GM STILL couldn't beat it. :ford:

Yeah,.......a bolt on C7 Z06 with the A8 is beast on the drag strip. :headbang:
But with full bolt ons on the OE blower even pullied down to the highest boost pulley it still loses to a full bolt on NA current gen viper. It just walks away, its absolutely the funniest shit ive seen in awhile :lol: i cant help but laugh everytime i see that shit.

Stock for stock it loses. Dollar for dollar per mod it just loses. I cant stress enough how funny it is. Vette guys hate this current viper.

The current Viper is some of the highest form of badassery in automobile history in my opinion.

I seriously was inches away from buying one instead of the mustang. I had a momentary lapse of being an adult hit me. What specifically hit me was cost to get to where i actually wanted to be power wise. It was going to be every bit of over priced to mod for the same outcome. It was the exact reason why i sold my 14 gt500. I knew i could do it for half the cost total invested with a coyote. Short on funds wasnt the issue it just felt very irresponsible do it when i like doing other things besides cars. 160ishk total invested in a viper, 135ish total in the 5.8 gt500 or 80k total in a coyote. I wanted to build a new car. I didnt want to build another older, rusting, pick a chassis. Ive been there done that a few times. Im over that madness, its just a pain. Thats how you folks got stuck with me :lol:
