I am so clueless with this stuff you guys know more than I do. I would like to go with this box but it would be nice if someone with some knowledge could post an install vid or list of components... type of sub, amp, where to tap into wiring,etc...I have the factory sub in the back so can I just tap into that input and route to new amp? Like I said I am clueless...lol

Make sure the enclosure is build to the subs specs for sealed, .65 to 1.00 cubic'. The amp looks good but only has a 12dB low pass filter. Not bad but a 24dB is desirable. Looks to be a good bang for the buck.

I'm sorry but I'm new to this, can you please elaborate on what you mean by the decibels? And can this sub hit the higher notes to or just low hits?

Looks good, I still have mine sitting in my trunk lol. I need to wire it all up still. How's it sound?
I am like a kid on Christmas day. I finally have some very nice bass. I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish on the subwoofer enclosure is incredible. It looks like it came with the car.

Which options are you getting with this box? (wire terminals, screws, stuffing, etc?)
I got the gold terminals and the acoustic "stuffing" inside the box.

I may have Zenclosures build me a box for one of these.

For optimum performance the enclosure volume can anywhere between 0.42 ft^3 and 0.6 ft^3 sealed. We highly recommend lightly stuffing the sealed subwoofer enclosure with polyfill and/or fiberglass insulation.

dB or decibels is just a measurement of sound like pounds are to a scale. A sharper crossover(24 is sharper than 12) cuts of the unwanted frequencies quicker, meaning if the crossover is 80hz, 100hz may still be audible but at a much lower volume. The subwoofer is designed for the lowest of frequencies, no more than 100hz. The larger the woofer, 12 is big, the lower it is typically set, say 80hz. It keeps the bass cleaner and it is within the comfort zone of the woofers design.

So you think the that amp even though it has a 12db low pass filter, is fine?

A 12db filter will work, 24 is just better. You can always buy better at most things in life! RF and Alpine are good products by reputable companies. You may find that you may want to set the crossover a little lower for the sub.

I do see that you are adding this to a shaker system with an existing sub if I read your signature correctly. I understand that it is a little more complex than the bass. Before I would order any parts make sure you have a complete plan on just how the amp will be tied into the system. I do not have the full understanding of how the shaker system works with existing crossovers read up and see if others can help you there. Sounds like a fun project, good luck!

Yup shaker pro! That's the only thing that I find troubling. As there is no specific thread for this :/... But I'll keep searching and do my research before I buy anything!

Ok guys so I'm thinking I'm gonna go with a single twelve rear faceing box here's the sub: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45529_Alpine-Type-S-SWS-12D4.html , and this amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_67758_Rockford-Fosgate-Prime-R500X1D.html . Wired to 2ohms to get 500rms. What do you guys think?
That looks like a reasonable setup. The amp has high level inputs, so you can pick off the signal from the rear speakers or the sub output.

So you think the that amp even though it has a 12db low pass filter, is fine?
Yes, you should be fine. Like vnzbd suggested, you might start off at 80Hz for the crossover frequency. If you want more "impact" you can raise it some to blend more with the midbass of your front speakers, but then the overall sound will start to be pulled to the rear... it's all a compromise :)
