Where is everyone mounting their amps? I have a soundqubed 1200.1 bass amp and a Rockford power 400.4 for highs and I was thinking of finding a way to mount them in the spare tire well but besides using mdf and setting it in there I'm out of ideas.
That's where I'm mounting mine, in the spare tire well... it's been kind of painful because there is the spare tire mount to contend with and the floor of the well is quite uneven. :(Where is everyone mounting their amps? My plan will be to measure and cut out a circle of mdf slightly larger than the well diameter and wedge it down in there. That way I can bolt down my amps and hopefully nothing will rattle. Just need to find the time to get all this done. That's where I'm mounting mine, in the spare tire well... it's been kind of painful because there is the spare tire mount to contend with and the floor of the well is quite uneven. :(
Pretty much what I have done... I dropped the mdf down to the point where it sits on the spare tire mount so I can bolt it down, then added some "tabs" around the perimeter for the mdf to rest on so it won't rock side/side or front/back.My plan will be to measure and cut out a circle of mdf slightly larger than the well diameter and wedge it down in there. If you go with a 5 channel amp, get one with a built in sub crossover and you're set...Just got my box in, they packed it well! Haven't taken all the wrapping off yet. I was going to get a 5 channel amp but now that I found the occupancy mode time alignment setting of the base stereo, I don't know, maybe I can use my vintage Hifonics Thor. Will def make that single 10" pound! Can go with stock speakers till I blow them! And I have never seen this before but look what I found! At Walmart of all places. A line level converter WITH a subwoofer control knob AND remote turn on lead! Perfect since my vintage amp has no speaker level inputs. But now I need a subwoofer crossover. Does anyone make a simple cheap one?

I plan on having this in place for track days, so velcro is a no go.I simply stapled two 2x3" pieces of the hook side of Velcro to the bottom. Keeps it in place but makes it easy to take out too.
That is what I am thinking. Either that or remove the subs and screw from the inside to the floor and deck and then replace the subs. You can just use some L brackets and screw it in.
