I'm looking into custom ordering a GT and I'm really drawn to the Yellow Jacket premium trim option.

The problem is there's only a few low quality photos on this forum and I can't find a dealer that has cars in premiere trim let alone Yellow Jacket for me to see in person.

Does anyone here have a Mustang in yellow jacket? Opinions on it? Hoping to keep my GT for at least five years so it needs to age well.

Thinking about it, I don't think I have ever seen a picture of one here.

I'm thinking it'd look good on Magnetic with those legacy black/gold 60 license plates.

I'm betting it would look amazing on a TY car. I had a yellow 04 GTO, and it had the yellow stitching like the Yellow Jacket Mustang interior. I really liked it and wish my TY 2015 had it.

I finally saw one in person. Here are my thoughts.

First, the yellow stitching matches the paint just fine. Important.

Second, you can imagine what it looks like when you check out a Premier Trim in ebony in person. All the "heavier" stitching will be yellow. All the lighter, black stitching will not be changed to yellow. In other words, not ALL of the stitching is yellow. It ends up being a mixture. Another way to visualize this is from photos of the Redline interior. Same deal, only any red stitching will be yellow.

Ultimately, I was about 50/50 on it. Adds a certain sporty feel to the already sporty yellow car. But the silver stitching that I have (I did not order YJ after all) works well with the chrome accents and silver dash. IOW, YJ is sportier, while standard PT black interior is luxury-er.

HTH.

I would have been more enthusiastic about YJ had they done yellow door cards and added a little more color. Seats would have been too much, I think. They get away with Redline (I love mine) but yellow would have been pretty loud.

I would get YJ on a yellow car for sure, and it would be my second choice (after Redline) on black, magnetic, and silver. Two other colors that I think look great with Redline (white and DIB) wouldn't look so good with YJ, I don't think.

It's an interesting choice. Just a little bit off black, and there aren't many others with similar options.

How does it look on the dash area? Busy or obnoxious?

It is not obnoxious or busy at all, I think it is the perfect amount to help break up the sea of black. I was happy that they didn't do yellow door cards as that would have been overkill, IMO.

I've been debating if I want to dye my white stitching yellow since I bought it. Question is will I still like it yellow years later or will I miss the classy white stitching.

My California special has red stitching on the doors and seats but not the shiftier and the steering wheel kinda weird.
My RX-8 R3 had all stitching red.

Also not the dash, which is just the molded black piece.

The part I hate the most is that we don't get the soft touch uppers on the tops of the doors. they gave us the nice inserts and that hard plastic up top.

Too bad it can't be ordered/swapped for a reasonable price.
