In UK active exhaust is standard on 2018
It’s loud but not as loud as say Borla or Corsa
I’ve heard YouTube clips of x pipe fitted
But not in reality
What does active with x pipe compare with?

Is it loud?

I just installed one I bought from America Muscle. It really woke up the system. I honestly was disappointed with the system until now. An idiot could install it. All you need is a saw-zall or other way to cut the 2 pipes and a ratchet and socket.

I don't understand the fascination with making your car really loud. Seems silly.

X-pipes tend to change the character of the sound more than the volume - typically the low-frequency "V8 rumble" gets de-emphasized.

Me either.

Don't want it loud when I'm just driving gently, don't need it loud when I'm driving hard, don't want it promising more power than my engine actually makes at any time.

I don't want to annoy other people, and don't want un-due attention from the cops.

Dunno, lots of people like it I guess.

That’s the bonus of the active exhaust
Loud or quiet

Don't be jealous... :D

Anyways, my car is pretty darn loud(sounds pissed off) and had a cop ride behind me for a little while. Eventually, I found myself side by side at a red light with the cop. He leans over and starts talking to me and says nice ride, I really like how she sounds. It made my day. First comment from a cop I've had in this car. This happened a few days ago.

Yes, with Active. It makes it "throaty" . In the quiet mode it is still "quiet".

I would compare it to the Ford Racing Borla Sports I had on my 2015.

Correct, Norm. And it does improve scavaging the cylinders so wakes up the car with correct tune.

I started with Ford Performance x pipe. Volume increased and it brought out a more raspy tone and dropped 15lbs or so from the suit case resonator. Eventually just wanted more so went with Corsa.
