I am not necessarily looking for an answer per se, however, I am wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their 5.0 Mustangs/Mach 1 that seems pretty intermittent for me.

Friday after work I got in my car and it was warm out, let it idle for about 20 or so seconds before heading out. Drove the vehicle completely normal didn't do any hard driving or anything and only went around 2 miles to meet someone. Vehicle only sat for approx 5 minutes or so and when trying to start it up it sounded like it was about to stall out but did not. After it caught itself wrench light came on and along with that exhaust modes were disabled etc.

Cycled the ignition again quick to see if light would persist and it did. Shut down vehicle and let it sit approx 5 minutes and fired it up again and no lights on.

Just curious if anyone else has had this weird issue on start-up or not where the car sounds like it is fumbling or about to stall out? I've had it happen several times or so usually when I leave work and head to the fuel station to top it off which is about a mile or so from where I work. Car always sounds good on cold start and no issues it just seems like after a very short drive and without driving it hard at all in that short 1-2 mile trip between ignition cycles the car really doesn't like something that's going on. Again I don't expect someone to give me anything concrete but would maybe help if anyone else has experienced this oddity.

I don't plan on taking the car in as I know most places are 2 weeks out so I'll wait to see if I have another fault or next spring when I take it in for my transmission concern.

without the code, hard to say. Maybe something with a stuck purge valve. Would be a wild guess. Pull the code and go from there. If under warranty, let Ford figure it out.

If it happens again I'll try getting an appointment like I said, most the shops around here are like 2 weeks out which seems ridiculous to me since I work at another dealer and we are at most 1 week for an appointment.

Light only persisted through one ignition cycle which was a few seconds after I shut it down, after letting it sit for a few minutes and starting it up again light was gone. Not going to waste to much time taking in it till it becomes a persistent issue or comes on again for now.

It may have a stored code or pending. Good luck with it.

Unfortunately, it's extremely difficult to say without knowing the code. Head to Advanced Autoparts, Autozone, etc next time it happens if you don't have a code scanner.
