I'm torn as to what to do. There's a nice 2019 GT convertible near me, optioned nicely. Only 6100 miles. I've been planning to order new, but now I'm wondering if used is worth saving nearly $10k. I'm also hesitant because it's black. I love black, but I fear the maintenance. Then again, for 10k I take care of the paint with a correction, PPF, wheels and lowering. If I buy new...some of those things will have to wait.

Maybe it’s just me but buy new. I would consider used on a GT500 but that’s it.

I rented a pony package black convertible this summer in Vancouver and it looked great:

I have a black 1986 SVO.
I'll NEVER by a black car again. My $.02. Go green!

Here's the black used one. I wouldn't call it settling. I went and drove a new Antimatter blue, covert with the same options, just didn't have the carbon package. In the end they would only budge $500 off MSRP. I have two build prices from Granger ready to go. In my debating, I was leaning on the 401a package. But I honestly could live without those options.

I am used to buying used cars; I can't afford the cars I usually buy if they were new. In normal times, Mustangs take a serious initial depreciation hit and don't hold value well. I bought my one year old 2018 GT convertible for $12k less than sticker.

Agreed, the used market is what is pushing me towards new. But there's still a $10k price gap which nothing to sneeze at. LOL

There is nothing wrong with getting the used car but......

1. It is black. Black is a nightmare to keep clean. But you already know this.
2. Warranty. The car may becoming to an end of the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty.
3. For better or worse this was someone else's car.

Now buying brand new.

1. It will be your car. Exactly the way to want it. No compromises.
2. Full warranty. No headaches for the next three years.
3. It's not black

IMHO buy new. There are never any regrets when buying exactly what you want. If the dollars aren't an issue it is the way to go.

Edit: Forgot the new car will have the 401A. Worth every penny.

I got my 2019 premium vert for $35,000 with 12,500 miles on it. Car feels unbreakable (knock on wood). Doesn't burn oil which may be a sign it was broken in properly. The only downside of buying used is that the previous owner could have driven the piss out of it during the break in period. It will come with a warranty so I say go for the pre owned. Having said that the 0% financing Ford is offering makes buying new more palatable. 10 to 15K is however a shit ton of hrs worked.
