One word: undercoating.Because of the amount of salt Michigan uses.
I think the people looking for answers to this question are not driving their Shelby in 10 inches of snow.
This car will be my daily driver. Not taking it out on bad days, but sometimes a Michigan dusting is bad enough, and therefore I want snow tires.

Tire Rack has snow tires available to fit the front rims. You could by two or four additional front rims and then fit snow tires to them. That would be one possible solution. Tire Rack does not have snow tires to fit the rear. I don't want to buy 4 rims $$$, and I don't like the idea of switching tires back and forth every year because I think the rims will get messed up.
