Good morning everyone,

Looking to buy some winter tires for my 2018 Mustang. I found a guy online who is selling X-Ice 3's barely used, but I am unsure if the sizing will work. They are 225/60 R17's. Does anyone know if these will work on the car or if there will be any issues? Hoping to avoid buying the wrong set of tires.

I live in Toronto so it does get pretty snowy here during the winter but the streets are normally plowed. Periodic heavy snow or ice patches are generally what I run into.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

It would help to know the size of your current rims. :p

Sorry I should have specified but these ones already come on rims and with TPS. Just need to know if there will be any issues.

Currently on the car are the 18” wheels that are black and chrome from the factory. 235 I believe. Unsure on the actual sizing.

You want to mount 17" tires on an 18" rim?

If I needed some I would look for a bit narrower and a bit taller overall. As for the rim size, they need to clear your front brakes for sure.

They are 235/50R18 currently on there.
The tires you mentioned in your first post are 17”, the rims and tires currently on your car are 18”. The 225 width MIGHT be fine but putting 17s on an 18” rim is a no-go as far as I’m aware.

Sorry for the confusion. I did a really poor job explaining this. Sorry but let me clarify below.

So currently on the car are 235/50R18 tires and rims OEM from the factory.

I am looking for a set of winter rims and tires and I found someone selling 225/60/R17 rims and tires with TPS for a good price. The question is whether or not they will fit on the car. They are the OEM wheels from 2015 vehicles. I have attached the photo of what they look like.

I don't have the PP so they are just the stock rims/tires and brakes.

Question is will the 225/60/R17 fit on the car and should I buy them.

I'm 99% sure that 17s are a no-go on the GT.

I think they would fit on an eco-boost, though....does Ford still sell the eco with 17s?

Not that I am aware of. The 18's are the smallest they come for 2018 and 2019. Maybe they changed the sizing. It sounds to me like these may not work.

thought u had a GT. 17s will fit an ecoboost. The base Eco comes with 17s.

I wish, maybe for the next car. I just checked and in 2018 and 2019 18's are the smallest you could get with the car. I currently have the 18's on my vehicle. 235/50R18 in size.

The winter tires will be 225/60R17. Any issues going from 235 to 225, or from 50 to 60?
