Anyone else bothered by traction control? I was screaming at my car yesterday to "spin those damn wheels" when I asked it to. Once I turned the nannies off the car was a little jittery but much more predictable. I don't think the nannies are designed for snow type driving.

Absolutely. The electronic nannies only help those that have 0 clue about driving in bad weather. For any normal driver, they're a hindrance. There are times that you need momentum, and that means some wheel spin now and again.

I shut all of it off every time I get in the car.

Agreed for the most part, but every once in a while there's an unseen patch of ice or something that the TC/Adv Trac will help with. Agreed that in situations like deeper snow, I prefer to have it all off.

Amen brother...it was 45 here yesterday so I took the Mustang out for a drive - had not been out for a couple weeks. Topped off with fresh fuel and "warmed" the tires up a bit :)

Today - blowing cold and snow...sigh guess with will be a few more weeks before I get another turn in the ole girl :headbonk:
Haha mine is my daily. Put on some blizzaks and haven't had a single issue. Yea I went in to get a car wash yesterday. Was beautiful out!

We're getting sleet and some snow at the moment as I peer out my window at work. Sounds like the lunch drive is gonna be a blast ;)

For those that have driven many winters, how do you deal with the salt? I have a beater I drive for the less than desirable conditions, however the Mustang still goes out on the weekends and can be exposed to some of the salt especially if the ground is wet. I don't want to cut into the longevity of this car if I don't have to.

Get it through a touchless wash as often as possible (and make sure it has underbody spray), and a good wax before winter hits.

The other thing I'll be doing next year is Fluid Film on all suspension/brakes components and fasteners.

so today, calgary is about 15cm snow fall. gone through it without problem lol but with extreme care. surprisingly well on highway. on unplowed street, it corrects itself pretty much within a sec.

Nah I WFH and have an Explorer Sport and a beater Ranger to drive when its wet, snowy and salty. The GT stays in the garage unless its 40 or more and dry.
:headbang: I recently picked up a beater '03 Explorer for like $2k and I've gotta give props, the fucker goes in the snow great. I try to drive the mustang at least once a week still, long as things are dry and weather.com tells me we're not getting any snow that day.
