We don't have it in MS either, and the roads are terrible especially the interstate due to lack of maintenance.

In the state of Florida where I live, state insurance laws require all insurance companies to charge $0 deductibles on windshield repairs or replacements (Once per year). I owned my new 2015 GT for only 4 days when a truck kicked up a stone the hit my windshield. This was Dec 2014. Safelite came out and did an excellent repair job. I did not replace the windshield as the chip had not developed into a crack. The repair cost was only $65. If I knew it was that cheap I would have paid out of pocket and would not have submitted a claim. Little did I know that my insurance company (Travelers) considered it a Comprehensive repair and it is now on my insurance record as such. So watch out if you have multiple repair jobs on your policy. Rate increases or dropped coverage can happen.

My windshield cracked 1 day after the "stupid" pickup driver hit my Mustang in the parking lot and run away. The day after, a rock bounced in front of me and hit the Mustang on the roof, on top of the driver seat. I never had this in 30 years driving!

I don't know if I should cry or laugh about this bad week.
The good thing is that I signed a "care plan" for the Mustang what will cover all this things and cost me only $40 a month. (unlimited windshields, dings, scratches, leather protection and so on....)

Unfortunately no luck here in MD... I still have to pay that $250 deductible.

My car dealer has a "golden program" if you buy a new car. Scratches up to 2", dings, windshield, glass and 1 x "showroom car cleaning" per year are included.

wow, that's great. I haven't heard of too many dealers that do that.

I will be getting the windshield replaced either Wednesday or Friday. $510 for the windshield with an estimated 4hrs labor to install... :frusty:
4 hours of labor? There isn't even any trim around the windshield. Wonder why it's so difficult to change out?

I don't know what it is about these windshields. It seems like they crack a little too easily. My two other buddies and I all have cracked windshields. Just waiting on the aftermarkets to see if they're any better

I would demand OEM since they are sound screens and just get a window coverage.

I have window coverage with a 250 deductible but even then the OEM windshield will get stars from a small pebble hitting it once. And those cracks will spread like wildfire down here in Texas. What I'm thinking is that there's too much pressure between the glass and panels causing the glass to stress. But then again I don't know.

I'm on my second windshield as well got a crack that came right up from the bottom in the middle. was $498 after tax. OEM replacement. First time I needed to replace a windshield. It was only like 2 weeks after I had the car tinted and the strip at the top of the windshield added
