Cracked windshield a month after getting it tinted?

Hello everyone,

This morning I noticed a large (about 10 inch) hairline crack coming from the edge of the passenger side windshield. Ironically this happened the ONE night I parked it outside (normally garage kept). I just had ceramic window tint installed on the windshield about a month ago. My question is- will I have to re-tint the windshield? I know the tint is done from the inside of the car, and when I inspected the crack it appears there are 2 layers of glass that comprise the windshield? I live in Florida where we have decent windshield replacement policies but window tint on the windshield is technically not legal...

Please help! That tint was over $100 just for the windshield.

If you replace the glass then you will need to tint the new one. I'm not aware of any way to repair a crack in the glass. Sorry to hear about your windshield.
