After spamming, it slammed down and satin the same position as the drivers side. Hey presto, door fixed, looks like you just need to spam the down button a few times and it'll sort itself out!

Thanks for the advice btw guys :) #ProblemFixed
That would be the bit in the instructions about doing it 5 times to set the stop. ;)
Glad it worked out.

Thought it was down first until the click, then Up rather than the other way round? Has been on all my other cars anyhow

I tired it both ways...

slowhand99 no, instructions said, cycle 5 times (assumed that was up then down 5 times). What I did was keep pressing down repeatedly until it slammed down...

Oh, how odd. Oh well, at least it's sorted (until next time ;))

Manders Mustang, I have the same issue and want to try your fix, but being that I'm no longer a yoof, please could you describe the process a little clearer? I'm struggling with, trigger happy, slamming, and spamming.

Thanks!

Woops... Trigger happy means continual pressing, Slamming means the window drops down to where it's meant to sit (it drops fairly quickly, first time I did it I shat(poo'd) myself thinking the glass had fell through the door card!) spamming is doing something repeatedly.

So, in short, the process is:

Shut doors ;)! Can't be done with open doors.
Pull windows up, wait 2 seconds, hear click.
Push windows button down, wait 2 seconds for click
(not sure if either of these are relevant, however seemed to be what I did before)
then click down 5-10 times, literally it's down, release, down, release, down, release (repeat until window drops down below the trim). DO NOT BRING the window 'up' during this time, the buttons have 5 clicks on them, two are up, two are down, one Is middle. If these are 'numbers' down are -2 and -1, neutral is 0, and up is +1 +2. For this process you want to click to -2, 0, -2, 0, -2, 0, -2, 0 etc. (If that makes sense?) until the window falls down, then pull lever up to +2 (Fully up) and test it works from outside your car.

Pull window back up to closed position and turn car off, then go test the door, if it hasn't worked, repeat :)

Thanks for that. Do you have to do both windows at the same time? And should the engine be running to supply the right voltage?

Guys the easiest way to do this is to get the ECU to relearn the software end stops. To do this, rip out the window motor fuse (in the engine bay) whilst the window is in motion. This will throw the ECU out and mean it will need to learn the end stops again. Put the fuse back in Then push and hold the switch all the way up, down, up, down. This will allow the ECU to find the hardware stops and set the software stops accordingly.

If the window still catches I'd question whether the trim/ door line is set properly, but start with the above.

It's worked with Engine on, and with just electrics but no engine on (You know when you tap the button without clutch pressed), tried that this morning out of interest.
acull2000 mines working fine post my fix, if it happens again i'll try yours (Will have a look at window when I get in it from work in a few hours!)

The window does drop when I open the door, it just is a bit delayed, cuz it'll go up when I close it again.

It catches on the trim as it doesn't come down quick enough.
I had this exact issue with my passenger door, i was getting ready to contact the dealer. but i went with smash the door and get a new one
hopefully new door has fixed that issue now, i'll have to see when i get her back.

this could be very helpful though!

Lol :lol:! I aint planning on doing that! Rather just take it in for warranty if it continues (past the ECU relearning bit).

Hopefully the new door has fixed it lol! Think my way's got mine fixed, need to do a bit more testing, just to be sure, but it's deffo got it sitting right now.
