Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you also had the issue where sometimes a window may catch when they 'come down' to allow you to exit the car. Seems to only be on my passanger side.

My question is, it's been rumoured that you can 'reset' the windows... how do I do this?

Cheers gents!

Ah so I was right lol

Didn't you try it the other day?
No, didn't leave the girlfriends until 10pm and it was pissing it down with rain. Didn't feel like having my window open until the click and getting soaking wet then driving 40 odd minutes like I'd peed myself lol!

And yeah, looks like you were right, just wanted to make sure ;)!

I've used the attached before on an '06. I think ours are the same.

Tried it, didn't work. (@twin turbo Jimboy2) Held both windows down until I heard a click (a very feint one at that) then held up until I heard a click (a louder one), opened passenger door, still somewhat caught, was opening at the same speed I'd open by drivers side door...

Hmmmm

If you open the door from the outside, is it obvious if it's catching on a piece of trim? It could be catching the window/door rubber......and it could be that window rubber isn't seated properly.

The window does drop when I open the door, it just is a bit delayed, cuz it'll go up when I close it again.

It catches on the trim as it doesn't come down quick enough.

However, I feel that this is down to the windows seating position naturally, I noticed yesterday when doing it that 'all the way down' for the passenger side window, isn't as far down as the drivers side one?

I'll get pictures/video tonight hopefully :).

Any other ideas until then, shoot and i'll try them before doing pics/vids.

I fear this maybe a warranty return

Did you carry out the whole procedure? i.e.

From the window switch, perform the following
re-initialization procedure. steps without stopping:
NOTE
WINDOW RE-INITIALIZATION MUST BE PERFORMED WITH THE DOORS CLOSED.
a. Operate the window UP and stall for 2seconds. (Hold The Switch)

b. Operate the window DOWN and stall for 2 seconds. (Hold The Switch)

c. The smart window motor will be initialized and one-touch-UP and Short Drop will be operational.

d. Cycle the window glass an additional five (5) times to set the window “Soft Stop” for the down position.

If this doesn't work a hard reset may be needed.

That's on the pdf attachment as well but involves disconnecting the battery when the window is moving. Personally if the first process doesn't work I'd be going back to the dealer, just in case our 'smart motors' aren't the same.

Ergh, sounds amusingly fun, will have to try, if neither works i'll be heading back to the dealer, it's only just started to annoy me when I've been getting in and out of the passenger seat to do mods and such. Only really noticed it then. (Obviously as I'm in the driving seat mainly :headbang:!)

Tried a few methods tonight:

Held up for 2 seconds, then held down for 2 seconds (2 seconds after they finished getting to locked positions) - didn't work. Also tried cycling 5 times after this. Also didn't work

Tried on 5 seconds, didn't work, then cycle 5 times, didn't work

Tries for 10 seconds, you guessed it didn't work...

But a break through came when i went trigger happy out of curiosity, the window 'Slammed down'. Now, what I mean by this, is that, it's normal resting position was this:
Window position pre-fix, notice it's sat just below trim.

Drivers side, what it should look like

After spamming, it slammed down and satin the same position as the drivers side. Hey presto, door fixed, looks like you just need to spam the down button a few times and it'll sort itself out!

Thanks for the advice btw guys :) #ProblemFixed
