So I was doing some research for rear brake kits since Brembo does NOT have a kit out for the 2015 Mustang GT yet. I'm tired of the single piston rear brakes with the God-awful silver/metal looking calipers. They look like crap while the front has these beautiful, huge brembos. I happened to stumble upon this after a buddy told me to check them out...

http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/BrakeKitAdvisor.aspx?year=2015&make=Ford&model=Mustang&option=GT

These make me happy... look awesome with the slotted AND drilled beauty to it, and I'm sure they can handily stop my vehicle.

4 Piston 14" slotted/drilled rotor kit?! for $2,100?? Sheesh...
That's actually not that bad when you think about it. You can get an entire front/rear kit (15" 6 piston up front and the 14" 4 piston out back) for less than the price of a Brembo FRONT kit (refer to Steeda website or CJPP for that).

Does anyone have experience with Wilwood and whether they are worth it or not?

I was going to upgrade mine to big brake kits until I started talking to a few reputable shops that said unless I am tracking the car regularly, it's not worth it. They said that a simple rotors, pads, fluids, and line upgrade would be more than efficient and good enough to handle the occasional time attack event if I really wanted to.

I agree the rear looks horrible though, but hard to justify the huge cost just for looks when the added performance isn't needed.

I had wilwood 4 piston bbk for my civic and they were horrible. Brake pedal had a terrible feel afterwards (probably due to me not upgrading the master cylinder to push more fluid) but other than that they faded super quick, required a full rebuild after some spirited driving in the mountains along with some DDing, and the calipers actually had some flex to them that I noticed when I was bleeding them. Long story short, there's a reason Brembo comes on cars from factory. As Dylon said, there really isn't a reason for you to upgrade unless racecar lol.

Hi,
FYI, we're working on a front and REAR brake kit. They are a considerably different class of product vs. the Wilwoods, but I just wanted to make people aware of them.

The fronts will be just like these, except on a larger 372x34mm disc (355mm are shown in all front pics).

The rears will be just like these.

We have more info in this thread. Here's what they look like on cars:

I have Wilwoods in my current DD Protege. I had the 4-pot first and they needed rebuild after 2 years. I have the SL6 now and working flawlesly after 2 years so far. Considering we are talking about a Mustang here, where there are more options, I would defiitnely go AP Racing, Alcon or StopTech. Nothing else!!!

What is the solution on the APRacing Brake Kit in Regards to the emergency brake?
