I wanted the factory lip spoiler, but I wanted the performance package more.

Haha, seriously this has been posted at least 500 times. Like everything it boils down to YOUR preference. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no super duper down force with it.
EXACTLY - same goes for why some people like crunch peanut butter and others like creamy: personal preference. Mod your car to your liking and who cares what anyone else thinks.

I didn't get the spoiler delete since I plan to get a spoiler down the road that will reuse the factory holes.

I didn't have a choice...Performance Package. But I like it without it, there is no mistaking my car for anything but a V8.

The S550 has a great rear end without a spoiler. I saw no need to have it. The S197 looked unfinished without a spoiler. Depends on the car, depends on your sense of style.

no spoiler or roush spoiler

not a fan of cdc or that duck spoiler or the one that makes it look like at late 70s/80s camaro or any of the oem spoilers

better question is what made you go with a black car after all that red?

Seems to me there have been posts about aftermarket spoilers not lining up with the factory holes. Probably depends on the spoiler, but I certainly wouldn't assume an aftermarket one will use the factory holes.

It's personal like everyone says. But for me the truth is that very few cars rock a spoiler nicely. We all see examples of that everyday.

Lots of aftermarket spoilers (A) will not line up with the factory holes and (B) may not even cover them up.

Planning to have another spoiler soon after purchase would get my vote for spoiler delete, and mount whatever you choose at that time.

In person the spoiler delete option looks better than pics on the web, this body style looks excellent without it in my opinion.

Anyone have a side by side rear shot of a spoiler delete vs having a spoiler?

Emailed my dealer to see if they can change my order to have a spoiler delete. Question, do they need to cancel the order to make a change or do they just edit the order already placed?

Straight on from the rear is really the only angle I like the look of the factory GT spoiler from. All other angles the look and lines are far superior without it, IMO.

I like the look of the spoiler, however, the one I have basically just lays on the back of the car. I wash the car every week and the spoiler annoys me because it traps water. Even after using a blower, once I open the trunk water will seep out. I'd order the spoiler again, but that's one annoying thing about it. I guess that just adds to the unique character of my car.

Post wasnt meant in a bad way and no need to search. Exterior mods are all PERSONAL preference. I don't like it on the 550. Looks and not a fan of non functional stuff tacked on. Doesn't mean you liking it is bad. Each his own. It's like saying Black is a better color then Red. No right or wrong, just what you like. All these posts do is start a 4 page pissing match over nothing, because seems most here can't have a different opinion then theirs on anything.

Great color, btw.
You made an error in your comparing the car color option to the spoiler delete option The spoiler delete may have no right answer but black is in fact better than red ;)
