w3rkn I guess you are right. My question probably is about teaching driver skills and parenting. It just really pisses me off knowing how I hard I have worked to get my 2014 and seeing some snot kid spending his allowance on modifying his 2014 or 13...
Last time I check a Lamborghini was a lot different than a ford....:ford:

Thats not a good reason to dilute the brand. The last thing ford needs is a bunch of sub 200hp 16 second 1/4 mile base models.

And you can wreck any car. My first car is w 2001 mustang GT that I still own and daily drive for over 5 years. I didn't wreck it and I have ran it at the track and ran a 13.9 so its not slow.

Yet I have never been pulled over, gotten any tickets, etc.

Stick an NA 4 cylinder (2.0 or 2.5 duratec) in an over 3000lb vehicle and it will run times like that. Remember that the other vehicles in fords lineup with those engines are a lot smaller.

Ah, good you picked up the sarcasm I dropped lol :clap2:

It's even more aggravating that I sold an x pipe to a guy on Craigslist only to find out he was driving a 2010 that his parents had just bought him. So as soon as we rolled out of the walmart parking lot I had to put a beat down on him just to make me feel better about my 2008

You can wreck any car.... But how many v6 are there on the road vs gt's? When you have more power than your gt given as a second hand vehicle to teens it's different... But W3rkin was right so they can lock this. If they'd like

It being nippy is the problem. Look on YouTube for 3.7 mustang modifications 1/2 the time it's some teenager. Let's face to the mustang is an affordable sports coupe. Or convertible it's not a Porsche although it may beat one on the track. The day the mustang becomes a Porsche in price it's status it will no longer be a mustang it will just be another sports car. But cookie monster I believe you are correct. I think you all are forgetting how recently mustangs were running 16's and 17's down the 1/4 mile.
Not since atleast 98 maybe earlier. Even the 99 v6's break into the 15's.

Honestly, the v6 models are probably geared (pun intended) to youth, why they bumped the HP up to as much as the 05-10 GTs I have no idea, but almost every year every car increases HP, I think the hP jumps is just Ford trying to keep up with the Jeffersons. Times-a-changin people!

I never said that it would be quick... I said volume filler.. And show me every base model mustang that ran 15s with the 3.8,or 3.9 the autos didn't nor the convertible and I'd believe the convertible and auto 4.0s didn't stock

I wasn't given any vehicle. I purchased my car outright with cash that I earned entirely on my own working.

It makes absolutely zero sense in the lineup. The current v6 does just fine as a base engine. The car is already one of the cheapest if not the cheapest rwd sports coupes on the market.

I guess your reading comprehension isn't the best. Let me reiterate it for you. I proposed they make a volume filler that doesn't have 305+ horsepower not to keep up with people but to possibly lower costs but also to change what will be in the hands of children that have yet to drink their first beer legally. :/

I guess insurance companies aren't on to something by raising premiums for young drivers in sports cars...

Let's compromise gentlemen..... how about go back to the 210HP of the '05 generation mustang (curb weight was 3300 so the weight reduction of the '15 would help some) and we could call it a day? That would be ideal to me, but that would piss a lot of people off obviously

While I like the old cologne motor I believe it weighed about the same as the 3.7 it had an iron block. But I did like it in my old mustang it was pretty decent for a truck motor!

Just stick a block of wood under the accelerator. Instant power limiter. Realistically, someone would really need to love the Mustang to buy a 200HP version over a 300 HP camaro.
