I'm fortunate enough to have a garage and work from home. When I go out, the thought of parking and going in somewhere makes my heart sink thinking someone might do something out of spite.

Contact the police and file a report. Have faith the NSA has camera's everywhere you're unaware of, and the police might be able to pull some footage.

Perhaps we should get a viper security system and a dash cam to help ease our minds. Don't know if the enhance security package informs the driver of a incident or not, but something to consider.

Yeah we have cameras in our parking lot and I STILL park far from the building at my job with my 14 Accord Coupe. The car is still pretty new (August 2014), and I just don't trust people. The second parking lot at our job is pretty much empty and a few weeks straight with over 50 parking spots to choose from, people STILL parked right beside me!

@WesleyEng - No cameras, unfortunately. I work in retail and the only cameras we have that reach the parking lot are the ones we have to manually control and position at that moment; any other time they are focused inside our store.

@Klumpikat - I know, it's such an upsetting feeling that you can't have nice things because some people want to be assholes. What are you meaning when you said the hood looks distorted? Are you talking about how the scratch is so deep you can see the fiber? lol Oh, I am so upset.

Sorry to hear about you incident, one our fears indeed. But you are in the US so there must be a camera somewhere nearby that picked up something! I would go out and investigate nearby store's, buildings etc. you got nothing to loose by asking.

Every time I park away from other cars in the back of a lot I get 2-3 POS cars that think they are funny and park next to me.

Really sorry to see this :( I'm like everyone else and try to park as far away as possible from other vehicles. If that isn't possible I try and find the nicest car possible and park next to that instead. One time I parked in an empty area of a parking lot and had a benz pull up beside me immediately. The driver of the benz said "I figure we're both safe here, right?". That day I knew my S550 was safe while I was eating at extreme pita.....:hail:

I always try to park with the other cars, but just at the end of a row where I can get real close to the curb to give the other jackholes enough space to be horrible parkers. Its not always possible though.

A few times Ive see a high end car parked in the middle of nothingness and some turd of a car parked close next to it, cause he thinks hes funny cause you are trying your best to not get scratches or dings. Flippin Aholes.

My 2013 SHO had 2 door dings. Both given to me by my 13 year old daughter from my wife's car. In my own garage.

It was storming. the tornado sirens were going off. Hail was on the way. Normally, I back the wife's car in so I can separate the 2 cars more. But the priority was to just get under a roof.

The siren freaked my daughter out and she was in a hurry to get to the basement. In her excitement, she flung the door open and it bounced twice on my SHO.

The thought of this happening me to my car has me glowing red. Im so sorry to see/hear this, OP! It is tough to determine what may have caused the damage, as others have said already. I feel like those are some deep gouges, not sure if a shopping cart could have done that, unless it was PUSHED into your car by some worthless scum. My vote is on someone had backed into it with a truck, or something with a heavy duty rear bumper. Must have hit it pretty damn good too. Keep us updated! I would ask around with the surrounding businesses (assuming there are some) and then get a quick quote from a reputable body shop in your area.

People are ridiculous. I was meeting my brother and his wife for a drink to celebrate her birthday Friday night. It was on a Main St where there isn't much parking, so everyone was parrallel parking on the side of the street. I parked and went to walk in and some jerk in a pickup is trying to parrallel park and doesn't know what he is doing. Slammed the car in front, reversed and slammed the car in the rear. He drove off, parked up the street and walked into the same bar I was going in. I waited a few minutes and both drivers showed back up to their car at the same time. The guy that did it was called out of the bar and his excuse was "well if I did it, I didn't mean to. But if you say I did, then I guess I did". People like that drive me insane. His license should be revoked until he can prove he is a responsible citizen behind the wheel.

Just after seeing this I'm debating on getting a nice dash cam instead of a short shifter. People suck

I will NEVER park along a street like that unless i absolutely have to, like in an emergency situation. This is the type of parking that makes me most nervous. People have a hard enough time parking normally between two white lines, yet alone doing a parallel job. F*** that noise. That guy should have been beaten in a back alley somewhere by the two owners of said vehicles.

so far ive gotten lucky, always park far away around no one and the only person that has parked next to me was another s550 and i found a sticky note on my window that said "nice"
