so will 11-14 headers fit without any hacking/modifying of anything?
the kooks will because they are a mid length, but their midpipe is different still

so, in theory, if you have a car with kooks on them, you could pull them off and return your old car to stock, and reuse the header, but you'd still need the rest of the piping to connect to the factory 2 bolt clamp

the full length headers will not fit

VERY interested in the results. Please start a new thread when you get all the data! You rock! :clap2:
I will do that. I started a thread about the baseline pulls that I did, but it turned into a discussion about which gear to do the pulls in. As they were done in 4th and not 5th. So, I'm redoing the baseline pulls in 5th. I will end that thread with the dyno sheets showing differences is 4th and 5th gear pulls. My exhaust is showing UPS delivery tomorrow. So, hopefully I can get new dyno pulls today or tomorrow, get the exhaust put on Friday or so and then get the new pulls next week sometime. At that time, I'll post the before and after graphs so we can see the results on a 1200 mile bone stock 5.0 P.P. car! I'll do that thread over in the Members Journals/Builds Forum. Then hopefully not too far away, I'll do the CAI with tune and we'll see what that 'package' does as it should be a very common starting point for most of us on these cars. Tom.

This is probably going to cost me some money :).

I may have missed it but I haven't seen anyone distinguish between RWHP or flywheel/crank hp. I definitely don't see 30rwhp. However, with the resonator removed and the factory baffled/chambered mufflers removed and bigger/better flowing piping...to say there would be absolutely NO gains would be naive IMO.

I know things have changed and tunes and this and that and emissions are strict but a motor is still a motor....get as much in and get it out. Everything works together and it is a sum of parts however, the Coyote is a highly efficient, high RPM American V8...it needs to BREATH!!!

What.a lot of guys are missing is the piping its when having sharpe and kinked bends in it causes restrictions, and factory systems are famous for this. Why do u think headers give u such a big boost in hp, because of all the terrible bends and size of tubing.

The cats are the biggest restriction followed by the stock headers. Headers gain HP not because of the size or straightness of the tubes, but because of the greater scavenging effect they produce (google exhaust Scavenging please). The aftermarket catbacks have the same "terrible bends" that you think kills the OEM system.

Headers made horsepower way before they had cats as a part of them.Goggle that, thats why the cat is double the size of the other piping.

And again we will see when real numbers come out, I believe u said borla was one of ur favorites, lets see if their catback only gains 5 hp, but im sure u will have some other reason then.Dude I been building cars for 25 years, I dont clam to know everything, but I have alot of experience.Get back to u when the numbers start coming out.

My guess is that he is waiting to see data.

Probably everyone agrees that you can't argue more horsepower from a car :).

Hey I agree the cats are the most restrictive part in the exhaust system no doubt but all the other aformentioned stuff is yet another hinderence. Listen, my end result will be 1 7/8 LTs NO CATS with a clean 3" exhaust and straight through mufflers. But....headers are expensive and the last piece for ME. My main goal right now is to make decisions that will match with what my setup will be in the future.

All this being said, the way to run that extra 1mph or 1 tenth faster is by eliminating even those smallest kinks and leaving no stone unturned. The littlest of things add up in the end

LT's + Catless you'll probably see very nice gains. Enjoy!

As a matter of fact for this reason, back in 1996 my buddy and I both had 1993 Z28s (fast year for Camaro- speed density ;)) and we were just in college and had no money for mods. First thing we did was gut the cat on our cars. Went to the very next Friday Night Street Night, same track & same conditions and both ran consistently 2-3 mph faster in the 1/4. Trust me, I hate Catalytic Converters

I agree with that Bud! No argument there. I just don't want to mess with headers and a tune just yet so, might as well get everything from there back the way I want.
