I'm looking at adding the cat back "American Thunder" series from Flowmaster to my '15 GT. I've read many posts that refer to "X-Pipe" and "H-Pipe" systems. The photo of the American Thunder series doesn't appear to be in either design. Can anyone explain which is required or is best for the '15 GT? Thank you

The difference between an x-pipe and h-pipe is purely sound. An x-pipe is smoother and more refined("euro") sounding and at WOT sounds like pure racecar. An h-pipe is gnarlier and more like the traditional musclecar that most associate with the Mustang.

I've done both on my Coyote, with multiple different muffler configurations plus with and without longtube headers. I prefer the sound of an h-pipe because it sounds more aggressive in my opinion.

Too many people say x-pipes create rasp which is incorrect. Rasp is caused by multiple things including muffler design and overall volume of the exhaust system.

I'm looking for the low throaty sound at lower speed and when punching the pedal. So I should look for the H-Pipe? Do you know what is stock on the '15 GT? I would imagine if Flowmaster doesn't identify as an X or H pipe, it's would still work just as well.

Yes.

There is a resonator in place of a traditional crossover.

AFAIK Flowmaster doesn't have a system for the 2015 Mustang yet. If you are referring to their S197 '11-14 system their crossover pipe is closer to an x-pipe.
