I completely agree with the comments about terrible cutting of the box, but after all is said and done, it gets the job done, and well (I have one). And proven power/performance.

I'll take the PMAS over the Mishimoto any day of the week.

Ive got the GT 350 CAI and PMAS CAI.

GT 350 CAI with MAF: $200
PMAS CAI with MAF: $400

Yes the oem Ford part is vastly superior in quality and also drives better as bigger tube is not always better and the GT 350 seals vastly better against hood, so much lower IATs.

Only downside is GT 350 has paper filter, so I added additional $65 cost by buying GT500 Airaid oiled filter for a few more horses and fits perfect.

PMAS Filter is very nice, but rest of kit quality is well meh, but the PMAS does perform, it makes power and improves terminal times.
Guy at the local track has a PMAS and it is falling apart, he has headers and I am trapping faster with a better time with the stock intake and no headers.

Could be a bad tune? How is it galling apart? Mine has been holding up past 6 months that I've had it. Just not pretty. Doing the track test this week of weather holds.

Not the tune... I forgot what was falling apart but I remember he was bitchin about it saying it was crap and he had to glue some stuff back together. There are 4 n/a S550 guys at the track I go to including myself (stock intake tube), we all run different intakes and the PMAS is the slowest. Same night same heatsoak in The long Staging lanes, same Lund FF tune Driver error is always, there though.

I know exactly what it is he has the old style maf housing which is not drilled to the velocity stack. If he contacts pmas they will give him a brand new one at no cost to him I had the same problem when I got mine. It ran like crap till i popp3d the hood and seem the issue. Bet you that's why he had the slower times because it was sucking in all that extra air. All the new cai from pmas going out have the rivets to avoid issue

Or it's the 160 degree underhood temps in staging, just saying instead of using a snorkel they ran around and said it was a restriction... Which it isn't. When they tested the stock box on a flow bench they said the rubber seal collapsed limiting HP to around 380hp, I am sure it collapsed but in reality that rubber seal won't collapse because it is supported by the metal air inlet on the grill. At our track steeda intake, then JLT, then stock, then PMAS. Just what I have seen.

You mean under hood? And is he sitting there with car on the whole time? My IAT never go 15 to 20 above ambient in traffic and hot outside only 5 above ambient while driving constant. Also have 160 stat. For sure with the filter popped off he will get way higher Temps.

I'll have numbers for you guys Sunday hopefully.

With a filter or no filter it wouldn't matter IATs would be the same, but it was intact anyways. Open intake with no snorkel. Just strait hot heatsoak staging lane air. From everything I have seen at the track headers are a better investment. Stock intake works well.

Of coarse headers are but they cost triple or more. Lol. Sucks he had a bad experience. We will see what mine does. I was bone stock last time at track. Ran a crappyear 12.7. Stock tires. Now flex tune pmas, tires and suspension. I'll let you know my results.

Also without a filter all the way pressed into velocity stack car will run like crap. I feel that was the majority of his issue. . It has been stated multiple times in this forum that the flow and performance of the intake out weigh the effects of IAT. Let alone the sensor being inaccurate. This thread is also the first I see of issues with pmas performing at the track.

What are the terminal speeds of each car and their spec, that rules out driver to some extent. :)

I am doing 113-114mph with PMAS CAI on Lund 93 tune and I have stock broken headers (UK car). ;)

hopefully this wont get me banned but pmas doesnt make any of their products, they are a copy of jlt. so next time try out jlt.
you clearly never seen the pmas intake tube next to the jlt intake tube. not even close. the crybabies at jlt complained the box was the same...
