Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

This has happened twice. I don’t understand why my rear studs break off there has to be something going on. They’re torqued to spec I’m 100 percent sure.
Could it be these rims?

They were torqued to 150 I’m 100 percent sure the entire life span of this assembly !

Did someone else over torque the lugs before? All metals experience metal fatigue and if they were over torqued in the past it can speed up the fatigue.

Is it happening on both sides? I have a possible theory.

Man this would piss me off. The only thing I can think of is you may have to get the extended studs? Hard to tell but do you get decent thread turns on the studs with this setup? Also be sure your lugnuts aren't bottoming out, that would cause them to feel tight but the wheel is actually loose.

The lugs fit fine and yes I get decent thread turns. The car all around have the same lug nuts. I mean what could it be ? I have 315s in the back that’s common. Why is it just happening to me ? I wasn’t even dogging the car I only drive it on weekends. Could it be the rims or maybe something wrong in the suspension that causes this ?

Clean everything with carb cleaner including inside of the nuts sometimes. Put on arp studs. If you have wheel hop solve it. Pray.

I too have broken several studs knowing for sure they were installed properly. This is one of several Mustang curses.

I’d pull the wheel and see if the stud hole is cast with an edge cutting into the stud.

There’s a video in my last related thread of me torquing the lug nuts and you can see that it was new too.

Has your wheel offset changed from stock?
