Who Makes The BEST Hood Struts on the Market ? ? ? ?

I have the ford performance struts now. Love the way the look. But they are Crap the way the mount and the mount at the engine bay is not strong and moves around all the time.

Is there any out there that are Strong/Well Made and Look Great ? ? ? ?

None of the company make their own gas struts. They are all rebranded but the big difference is the paid for QC of the supplier and the attachment devices each company makes for the struts. Some companies have there own brackets made for the application. I think Steeda has the best bracket especially for aftermarket hoods. Ford Performance also uses a high quality strut but the bracket is a little basic. I'm not sure who supplies either of them. Redline & Cerveni are in the same category as each other. You probably can't go wrong with anything from any of the popular companies. It'll usually be pure dumb luck if a strut fails.

Redlines have always worked well for me, but due to availability, this time around I bought Ford Performance. The mounting has been fine, but the lifting strength has been sub-par. Even on the hottest days, they could barely raise my hood. As soon as it got cold outside, they started requiring considerable help lifting.

p.s. I always get a laugh when the installation videos tell you to do a critical step AFTER its too late. In this case, to mark where the hinge hardware bolts to the hood so the hood won't be misaligned and need adjustment.

Those would be my second choice. The only thing is depending on what you're working on, having the mount that far forward could obstruct access in the engine bay. There's pros and cons to it, as obviously those have more leverage on the hood.

I also have the Ford Performance ones. I did make a custom nut, to beef them up. (like Redline)
