Similar to last time I'd say.

(but still no seat memory, and we didn't get the blind spot warning)

It's a pity that we still don't get either the seat memory or Bliss or even an option to include them when ordering. I am not that over the hill yet but with all the lairs on the M1 these days with little respect for others, a bit of surety when changing lanes would be nice. Using mirrors is fine but anything extra is a bonus.

Ordered Feb 17

Does anyone have a link to Shahni at Ford FB to get vin numbers?
I cannot quite remember but I thought there was a "What's the status of my order" heading in the "send message" function of Ford Australia facebook. Anyhow Shahni is the one 9 times out of ten that answers my questions.
Not a link but she signs off as Shahni@FordAustralia

Thank you for the alternative suggestions, but all I want is the measurements of the spacing of the dimples on the 2018, I have the mounting brackets already.

Hi Fen,
Are you able to tell me whether the spacing for number plate mounting dimples front and rear in the bumpers are the same as on the 2016 models. Also is the slight bend in the nose of the front bumper is the same as the 2016.
I need this to see whether the Lakin number plate brackets from the 2016 will fit the 2018 version.
Thanks
John
We've got a new slimline plate coming for the front - should be here this week. When I have the current one off I'll look for the dimples and I'll take a photo from above to show the curve. The dealer mounted the current plate (direct to the bumper...) as I asked for no mounting bracket. There is now a stripe over the bumper where the plate mounts but I was at work when it was done so I haven't seen the plate off yet.

Would now be a good time to say that Ford NZ wouldn't take our order until 12th Feb (they officially announced there was a 2018 new model on 13th Feb) and we took delivery on 24th April? Thought not..

We were trying to order from early November though.

Hi Fen. Is the active exhaust as nice sounding as the US car do you think.

I don't think the videos convey what it's like. I'm pretty happy with it.When we went to pick the car up it was in the showroom under a black sheet so they could do the whole unveiling thing. Unfortunately the other local dealer got a demo in Orange Fury so we'd seen the colour before we saw Nicky's car or it would have been really exciting.

The salesman then drove it out the door and when he started it it made quite the cool noise. I asked what setting it was on and he didn't know, but it turned out it was normal.

I'd say that the quiet mode is pretty much what the previous stock GT exhaust sounded like, which means normal is already a bit fruitier. We've been running around in Sport with the driving mode in Sport+ and the roof down and it sounds pretty good. My wife is not as keen as I would be run it in Race Track mode with the driving mode in Race Track or Drag Strip, but even in sport when it gets to around 3,000rpm it has the beginning of the screaming howl that I remember from driving a stage 2+ convertible with Street Fighter system. Not so loud of course, but Race Track might change that.

Now my dealer says ETA of 30/06 - not the first ship but not August.
Any chance yours may be earlier, Peter
