Similar to last time I'd say.

I just noticed today with the sun shining low down the car from the front that the contour of the front wing to the passenger door is wobbly. It's probably only very slight but the angle of the sunlight created a shadow that emphasised it. I'd have taken a photo but it wasn't an appropriate time to draw attention to it at the time.

This one is a convertible so I can't say if the third brake light is still lopsided. The '16's definitely was, and the boot lid on that one didn't fit properly (corrected at 3,000km free check over).

Internally there was a bit of the plastic covering of the dash top that should either have been trimmed off or pushed out of the way into the gap between the dash and the passenger A pillar. It was easy to push in that gap and can't be seen now, but it should have been picked up at any number of points between manufacture and customer hand over.

Saying that though my new Passat sensible car came with a hole in the passenger side mirror back and I only noticed that a couple of weeks after delivery (and had to refer to a collection photograph to confirm was damaged from that time), so it's not a Ford or Mustang thing exclusively.

As I summarised it above and will qualify further now, they have fixed most of the things that were wrong with the '16 & '17 models in terms of design (but still no seat memory, and we didn't get the blind spot warning), but they are still built by the same people in the same factory to the same level of cost : quality.

I do find it somewhat amusing that I was flamed a couple of years ago for suggesting these are cheap and not especially well built cars (in comparison to Audi as I recall) and now everyone is openly slating so many aspects of them.

Did you have a build date ? Any info on ship or where it left from?
Built on 11/4 (at least that's when I received built email)
I didn’t get a vin number with it though.

It’s on the Tarago sitting in Panama canal. They gave me a live tracker.not aure how long it takes, 3 weeks maybe?

I ordered it last year. Finalised spec in December.

Hi Fen,
Are you able to tell me whether the spacing for number plate mounting dimples front and rear in the bumpers are the same as on the 2016 models. Also is the slight bend in the nose of the front bumper is the same as the 2016.
I need this to see whether the Lakin number plate brackets from the 2016 will fit the 2018 version.
Thanks
John

I could use this info as well. The dimple spacing measurement would be appreciated.

Mine is not so lucky. Although it was built on 28th March it has not been assigned a vessel yet. Ford said to check back at the end of May!!

Built 11/4/18 - Mine is sitting on the docks in Baltimore with no vessel assigned and a possible departure late May.......I would not be surprised if your Orange Fury is sitting beside my kona blue on the same dock

Received an email today.
Finally my 18’s on a boat.

Got my email from ford today to confirm my order
Was email from FA or the dealer? I have a VIN and it's been on docks in Baltimore for a fortnight. FA says check back in month. Hoping its on the boat. Can't wait.
