  1. Who's got the new 2018 coming?

Looks good. Dare I suggest black 5.0 emblems as a first upgrade?
  2. Australian spec Mustang owners photos

Not especially good photo or salubrious a setting, and I missed the best shot, but the OF was glowing in the setting sun in our weekend away in Taupo.
  3. '18 Heater Blower

I canā€™t really comment on the headlights as itā€™s my wife's car and I donā€™t know if I was ever even in the '16 after dark. I certainly donā€™t remember the lights well enough to compare if I was. I barely drove it as I bought a Walkinshaw VF Ute for my own fix of V8 shortly after she got it, and...
  4. '18 Heater Blower

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we have a heated steering wheel, and we also have a wind deflector which should help reduce the wind swirl considerably. It's interesting what you say about the MX5 - I've had three of them (NA; original and best IMO) and never had a heater issue. I've also had an MR2...
  5. '18 Heater Blower

I'm looking for some input on how the heater blower works, specifically on an '18, though it's likely not different on '16 & '17 cars. When the heater is set to auto, the roof is down and the temperature set reasonably high (say 24.5 degrees) it is still sometimes cold in the car if the outside...
  6. Power Saving Issue

No music playing when it happened to ours. We barely have the radio on as it makes its own music when the roof is down.
  7. Power Saving Issue

When does it do that? I noticed ours do it on Saturday when I was waiting for my wife to get in. It was turned off at the time and she had the key with her outside the car, but it was unlocked and I was in the passenger seat.
  8. Picked up 2018 GT fastback Auto

Very nice, and congrats. It is amazing how what arenā€™t in the great scheme of things large fundamental changes have made the '18 so much better than the '16/'17. Plus it has sorted a lot of the things that felt cobbled together to get the car to market like putting back the bonnet vents and tri...
  9. The argument for/against the 2018 Mustang.

Not that the question is anything but moot by now of course, but I still donā€™t see the point in waiting - at least for a GT auto. The Shaker in our '18 is way better than the one in our '16 was, but with the dynamic exhaust we never turn it on. Might be different if the car is a daily, but ours...
  10. Stripe recommendations - Melbourne

    Ohhh; me likey. Lots.
  11. Stripe recommendations - Melbourne

    Stripe day is exciting. Pics?
  12. Stripe recommendations - Melbourne

Weā€™re in Wellington, which I appreciate isnā€™t Melbourne, but $1,600 sounds like a huge rip to me. We use a local sign place that does vehicle wraps and they make the stripes to our specs for under NZ$800.
  13. stripe questions

Our ā€˜16 had stripes pretty much identical to 16Fastback's. They cost NZ$750 or $795 (I forget which) at a sign making place in Wellington. The same place did the ā€˜18 and I think that was $695 or so (no roof this time), but a slightly different design.
  14. 2017 BMW M140i(auto) to a 2018 GT Mustang(auto)?

Oh, and the 10 speed seems pretty awesome. I drove a couple of 6 speed auto previous models and was happy we had gone manual. Iā€™ve yet to have hand controls installed in the '18 so I havenā€™t driven it yet, but as a passenger itā€™s clearly much, much better and Iā€™m not unhappy that we had to go...
  15. 2017 BMW M140i(auto) to a 2018 GT Mustang(auto)?

Hard to say as very few people will have experience of an '18 with and without Magneride. What I can offer is that a 2018 with Magneride is noticeably more comfortable and compliant than a 2016 without. Having had a few BMWs over the years I canā€™t see you finding even a non Magneride Mustang...
  16. stripe questions

We've had two mustangs striped and both have been perfect. Assuming these are vinyl then I imagine the problem is that whoever is fitting them is, to be blunt, no good at it. We use a sign making company who do everything from boards to windows to full vehicle wraps, and I stayed to see our...
  17. MY2018 in the flesh

No blind spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise is fairly basic compared with other systems also. It had auto high beam, I believe pedestrian detection etc though.
  18. Who's got the new 2018 coming?

I was in San Francisco for 1 day earlier this week and saw a fair few 18s, all convertibles bizarrely. Personally I think Kona is too dark (as I do with Magnetic also so disregard if you like that colour).
  19. Paddle Shift and Drive mode

Our '16 was a fastback because we prioritised transmission over body style, but not everyone who wants a manual is able to drive a manual... I'd not previously been a flappy paddle fan and I still havenā€™t driven our auto '18 (as it doesnā€™t have hand controls yet), but an RS6 I had once used...
  20. Who's got the new 2018 coming?

Interesting about the pulsing start button. I havenā€™t noticed ours doing that. Is it obvious in daylight or only if itā€™s a bit dark?
