Yeah I have the Roush Axle-Back and used to have an H-Pipe paired up with this and the cold starts were way too loud. It actually sounded terrible to me. Like a giant fart when first starting up the car. The "warm" starts sounded much, much better to me. Perfect tone and loudness without the "fart". Since then, I've removed the H-Pipe and went back to the stock res & the cold starts sound much more tame and better, but the "warm" starts are definetely too quiet now. Uh, compromises..

Video of mine showing the cold and warm starts with the H-Pipe/Axle-Back:

No it is not much louder. it has a great tone, quiet at freeway speeds/cruising but has a nice burble/tone as you get on it but it is never too loud imo.
I have a 2019 mustang GT with a Roush catback, jlt cai and a tune and it’s ridiculous. When he started it in the garage and gave it a little rev it hurt my ears. On the road it isn’t as loud but it’s still about 3-4 times as loud as stock exhaust

put the roush catback on mine, very happy with the tone. it's got a nice sound to it, not to loud but decidedly not stock. i can pull in at night and not wake up my wife, which is no small feat, but when i stomp on the loud pedal the thing has some bark to it. it never gets obnoxious like the Borla Attak or Corsa Extreme in the higher RPM ranges. the youtube sound clips dont do it justice. happy with the purchase.

I have the switchfire now with stock mufflers, Roush soon. On my 2019 I had the Borla S catback, and man it was something. Hoping this is loud, but not as loud.

I had the Borla S Cat-back AE on my first 19 PP1. For me, it was great but a touch loud. Now have a 19RS3 with the Borla S European Cat-Back AE with Borla Resonator. This set-up has small 9" resonators installed on the axle side in front of the Mufflers. Took it down to where I am happy normal operations. Not a single noise complaint. Hit WOT and yes it rumbles perfectly.

Is the roush catback much louder than the stock s550 exhaust? If you have a roush are you happy with it? What other exhaust do some of you guys own and are happy with it? Thanks Dan
Dan,

I installed the Roush H pipe with the Ford Performace Borla Sport mufflers. Closest to the "old school" sound I could get. Can be quiet if you dog it around town... but if you punch it... it screams. I watched a thousand videos prior to making my decision and all I can say is they are ALL louder than stock.

Closest thing to stock I heard would be the Ford performance Borla Touring mufflers.... or...

Lots of guys are simply ditching the resonator (briefcase) and throwing in an X/H pipe and keeping their stock mufflers.

And yes, I am very happy with Roush. The cut and clamp system was simple to install with the help of a friend, and is holding up well!

The problem with this is how tinny the stock mufflers sound with a res delete. Some people are ok with it but many find it needs to be addressed with a different solution asap.

I went with Borla catback with the active exhaust, great deep sound at idle and barks on WOT, solid product!

Roush will be louder than Borla S type.

After a bit of debating, and reading through posts and videos and such, I've ordered the rousch cat back system. Excited to install it once it gets here, haha.

speaking of the Roush catback...
i've had mine for about 8 months. the only down side is the drone at around 1500 - 2000 rpm or close to it. cold starts are loud until it settles down on its own or i put it in drive.

from what i gather, it's 2.5 inch pipes, right?

i was thinking of getting some electric cutouts
